Time to get the emails into sky.

    Now that it looks like Setanta is doomed and Eurosport is shite we really need to get the emails into sky demanding that they step up their boxing coverage. Gone are the days where we got almost every top HBO fight live and for free. We're even having to pay for Mayweather - Marquez. wasn't it only a couple of years ago when we were enjoying De la Hoya - Mayweather, the biggest fight of the year for free. I reckon if we get a good number of us emailing and demanding that they improve boxing converage or we will cancel or subscriptions they might take a bit of notice. I remember this happened before and they stepped it up.

    Aye suppose it would be wise to see what happens to Setanta. But even with Setanta still running Sky's coverage is totally lack luster considering how much we pay for it.

    Any news about an ESPN takeover?

    Most news stories claim that ESPN will wait till Setanta go into administration and then pick up their TV deals at knock down prices.

    lads i was just speaking to my dad he says as soon as they go into administration there deals go back to the person who gave them the deals so Top ranks deal goes back to top rank so ESPN wont be able to buy it cheap but thats bye the bye

    lads theres a channel that over the year has showed the top cards from america time and time again and nver been recognised for it. stand up Eurosport forgot the emails to Sky. Eurosport has been willing to show boxing and im sure if they got enough emails they would try to get more live cards

    Eurosport can't offord it. Hence why they only show shitty East European boxers and repeats.

    Eurosport im sure if they got suport they would try to get some more live boxing. It cant be that expensive for say ESPN FFN or something of taht ilk

    Fair play to Eurosport for what they try to do but I'm not interested in waiting two weeks to see a fight. Fans of other sports wouldn't wait for a week or two to see the Wimbledon final, NBA finals or the Champions league final so why should boxing fans?

    If Setanta to fold we need to batter Sky, knock down their ****ing door and demand it. They've done it once (with their American coverage) so they can do it again. They know there's a market out there.

    But Longcount is right lets see what happens to Setanta first.

    They will be able to buy a lot of things cheap (or at least a lot cheaper than the prices Setanta originally agreed to pay) especially if there is no competing bid (ie if Sky don't want them). The SPL and EPL rights, for instance, are unlikely to fetch the same value. I doubt Setanta paid over the odds for the Top Rank contract though.

    unless we release the song i wrote and sell it to raise money for Setanta as it is a sure fired number 1

    longcount you have said Setanta has been in contact i think f they want to save themselves AK and Bunce have to sing the song and let you edit it. In fact you should email setanta that see what they say.

    If no-one else steps up i will try to find somebody to do it
