The fight will be fought at a catch weight of 138.5.

“I told Paulie to lay off his Grandma’s pasta and eat one less cannoli,” said Lou DiBella about Malignaggi dropping an extra pound or two.

Also, apparently Michael Katsidis was supposed to fight Vicente Escobedo in the co-feature, but Katisis turned the fight down.

    Predictions?

I say if Diaz doesn't show any affects from the Marquez fight, he damn near runs Paulie out of the ring, and wins a wide decision.

Could well be another Hatton style massacre. Malignaggi lacks any power to check Diaz's pressure.

The weight will help Diaz as Malignaggi has slowly began to hae problems to make 140.
For 138,5 he will have to work hard.

Remember what I said about catchweights potentially getting out of control?

Anyways this is a good fight. I have to say I'm a bit more disappointed that we won't get to see Katsidis vs Escobedo. Vincente is a good up and comer, Katsidis is a good entry level test for the guy and both of them bring it. Too bad.

    Nice one.
Lets hope setanta is still somehow running until this fight.
    They will likely show it.

He has never had problems making weight- in fact, most of his fight he is a hair under the 140 mark.

I hope he shakes the McGirt out of his game. If he comes to the ring with his pre-buddy fight style, he has a good shot at fighting his way to a win over Diaz!

Either way- this is a great fight because the winner will be in top contention and in the thick of their chosen weight division. This is a must see- I say!!

Also I hope we get some excellant prospects on the undercards- perhaps the petersons??

Unless I'm mistaken (have been before) both Lamont and Anthony are signed to Top Rank.
