    it's embarrassing

i hear a lot of people saying well our next great heavyweights are all in the NFL or NBA, well i guarantee if arreola, chambers and kevin johnson (our three american heavyweight "hopefuls") were in one of those sports, they'd be absolutely ripped compared to the way they look now

Yep. It is no mystery. The "C" level athletes that can't make it in pro football, basketball, or baseball are all that remains to take a shot at boxing. The rest of the world hasn't gotten much better, the great big men of the US are just participating in other sports from their youth (often receiving an education or other subsidy from these money-making college sports) and then moving on to the pro ranks. There is no subsidy for boxers and those that are decent but not able to make the pros (NBA/NFL/MLB) can't survive to train to become boxers and have to get normal jobs. This generation's "Lennox Lewis" + sized/skilled big men are either in the NFL/NBA or working in any of a number of productive and unproductive endeavors outside of sports. But, it is not all bad, it allows the rest of the world to gain some belief and their young kids to have some heroes (no matter how unimpressive these heroes are athletically in so many cases) to look up to after a rather long period of relative/comparative domination.

    They dont fight often enough.
They probobly rely on their punch too much.
If they dont have much of a punch the money must be ****in great.
They are just lazy. The top fellas get too much money.
For me the only way to stop this trend is to start to ban them fighting on top networks until they get in some sort of decent shape.

Notice how most of their stamina's are awful. After 6 rounds of boring chessmatch, it looks like their on the 15th round of Ali-Frazier war.

you cant out train a crap diet unless you have great genetics for staying lean, big men usually dont so they train but eat too much and the result is fatties

Some HW's looked great...See the K Bros, and David Haye (although he may have a glass body to go along with his glass jaw seemingly). I have never seen Wlad look out of shape. Vitali even comes in good shape as his age...this is why these guys dominate. There working out, and there opponents are eating at McDonalds.

cuz they eat more calories than they burn, which, considering the amount of training they do compared to the average guy (even if they dont train as much as they should), they must be eating a f*cking lot... and the thing that annoys me the most is; if u were a pro boxer you'd want to be the best that u could to earn as much as u could wouldnt u, so why these guys dont want to slim down to be the best they can really says alot about their mentality cz theirs no way u are as good carrying 2 stone of fat than u are being slim and lean

This is it , too many fighters aren't challenged on the way up , however if you are anything but a HW you have to make weight so you have reason to be in shape . If you are a HW and are facing guys you can spark out without too much trouble the motivation to be in shape MUST be less.

i think there is also this misconception in boxing "size matters" to some degree yes, but it gets too much overkill.....so these guys see a VK who is 6'7 and think i have to get big, so what happens is they get fat in the process.....i think its a disgrace to the sport that we have fat heavies.....and they are actually ranked in the top 10 which is worse.
