Michael Nunn was a good fighter but gets way ovverated on ESB. I got Pavlik in this one and I never understood why people on ESB ever thought Nunn could beat his contemporary's e.g. RJJ, Eubank, McCllenan, Mccallum and Benn

nunn was one of the best middleweights of his time, he had perfect timing an excellent jab and very good footwork, his power was also very good in short this match is a huge mismatch pavlik would be lucky to last more then 3 rounds
:patschapart from good fighter u should delete nunns name and replace it with pavlik, i hope u'v still not forgotten how a 43 year old man won a shutout against his overrated ass

What would Kelly do to beat Nunn? Michael was just about as big as Pavlik was on top of being far faster, far more skilled, having superior foot speed and a southpaw with all of the angles. I see Kelly being out boxed almost as bad as he was against Hopkins although not as dramatic because of Nunn's lack of true power( but definitely enough to get Kelley's respect, see Nunn/Kalambay).

Nunn was on fire between 1989 and 1991 but his biggest wins are not that impressive but I am not trying to make out he was average. I just find it strange when people act like Nunn was a unbeatable monster when contemplating fantasy match ups.

Nunn was inconsistent during his reign at the top. He looked brilliant against the likes of Tate, Kalambay (an extremely impressive KO given the quality and toughness of the fighter), and very good against Roldan, but not so much against Curry and Barkley.

Nunn had a lot of talent, it's a shame he wasted too much on cocaine and partying. Stylistically I see him giving the slower Pavlik all sorts of hell. Nunn improvised and did his share of technically bad things. Against a tall rangy fighter like Pavlik he'd pay on occasion, but also his speed and reflexes would allow him to avoid some of these shots. Against the better fighters, Pavlik is more of an accumulation puncher whose heavy handed shots just build up. I don't think he'll land enough to stop Nunn, whose chin was good. That Toney punch was just a beautiful shot that would drop most guys.

    Nunn by UD.

Please Nunn is way too fast and agile for Pavlik. Taylor didn't use movement against Pavlik in their first fight. Nunn would be moving and throwing fast combinations would befuddle Pavlik.

LMAO @ the thought of Eubank, and Benn beating Nunn.

Eubank wanted NO parts of Nunn.

Nunn would do well on the cards, but he would NEVER get Pavlik's respect. Consequenlty Pavlik would ultimately walk him down, beat him up, and knock him out.

That's ins the real world. On ESB Arce KO1 Pavlik.

Nunn's chin would just not hold up.

Pavlik (and I think Kelly is pretty decent) is a long way from demonstrating he would have anything for Nunn. Nunn is much quicker of hand and foot, same height, reach, and has been in with quality comp and performed. Kelly has twice defeated a very good athlete but only modestly talented boxer in Jermaine Taylor and the limited Edison Miranda while losing to an elite fighter in Bernard Hopkins who was far, far past his sell date at nearly 44 years of age.

As such, there is nothing to indicate he could handle Michael Nunn who was a much, much better boxer than Jermaine could ever be. Nunn was a terrific talent would have been a handful for a prime Bernard much less a Kelly Pavlik (who is comparatively slow and plodding).

Nunn is a full step, if not two or three, above Kelly. Kelly is gonna have to do some major work at 168 (or LHW) to make this matchup even imaginable or contemplable.

At this point, Nunn by unanimous decision 8-4 or 9-3 in a bit of a mismatch.
