that is why i am beginning towonder how some of the judges can score it so disparately.

JCC seems to be the recipient of at least 2 gifts here.

dlh-sturm. i guess thats true, no rematch if i remember it right.

Dimitriy Salita vs Ramon Montano is a good example why undefeated means nothing. Salita is currently 30-0 and by his cult following, a pound for pound king. It's largely because his story and background pulls at certain loyalties. He is a very religious Jewish guy who certainly has good boxing skills, so people surrounding him have a lot invested emotionally. A documentary, "Orthodox Stance" is a biopic of Salita, so you can imagine he has quite a fan-base in the Jewish community and Brooklyn community where he resides.

Salita, then 24-0, was supposed to showcase his skills in the Rahman vs Toney (2006) undercard. Instead he got knocked down by Montano (9-2-1) in the first round and did not appear to recover. He survived the 8 rounds, again dropping a second time (cant remember the round), but even then he got a controversial DRAW. He never won a round IMO, it wasn't a Marquez comeback, but he then remained undefeated, a gift from the judges. He has been fighting at that level ever since, winning most by UD against relative unknowns compared to his KO's in his earlier fights.

IMO, a loss then would have triggered a lot of things that might have made his career better. A bit of soul-searching and re-assessment might have paved the way to improvement, rather than overlooking his under-performance since he didn't lose it in paper anyway. So I guess, most of the robberies in the early stages are done mainly to protect that all too important 0.

Dale Brown Vs. O'Neil Bell. Even Bell's home town crowd booed the decision.

    Void/Castillo I was a disgrace, but Brown/Bell was sick.

The last couple bad ones I remember was, Burton and Augustus..Augustus was robbed, luckily he got retribution later.

I thought Meehan beat Bewster very convincingly. I was abhorred at that robbery.

great info guys. lets hear more.

that dimitri guy could have achieved more rather than protect his 0. losing sometimes in your prime makes you aspire for greater things.

srl lost. ali lost. duran lost. hearns lost. mab lost. morales lost. pac lost. jmm lost.

federer lost. tiger lost. i just don't see the fixation with trying to have an undefeated slate.

that is why there are some asterisks on fighters like pbf, calzaghe and to some extent JCC.

Not a robbery but to me the official verdict in the Tua vs. Ibeabuchi fight is one of the most unfair decisions.
