ron lyle vs rocky marciano....

That's how I see it too. Marciano may very well hit the canvas once or twice early, but I don't see him giving up. He could maintain constant power in both hands over the long haul of a fight, and would be thowing punches constantly to the body, head and even Lyle's guard.

Although, a Lyle win is certainly possible, I think Marciano could probably stop him late.

But then I see Ali taking Lyle out of their fight with virtually one punch and I begin to wonder...nah, I'll stick with Lyle.

Which rated men did Lyle ko?
He is best known for his sloppy, knockdown ,drag out brawl with Foreman ,a fight he lost.

 

And Rocky wouldn't stand much of a chance against that version of Lyle.

Marciano was too short and too light. Even the power of the hardest P4P punching 185 pounder ever (which isn't Rocky mainly due to his extreme lack of reach which is one important factor for punching power) likely wouldn't be close to the power of a peak Lyle.

 

Lyle was stopped by Ali,and beaten by Quarry, who Rocky would ko.

Marciano was one of the hardest punching heavyweights, I dont see where you are going with this.

In terms of just raw power? Probably none. As far as composite punching ability, accuracy, and good delivery? A vast number.

 

You may want to check some of the stats on this one.

While Lyle could certainly crack, most of his KO's were stoppages against lesser opponents, or men who simply weren't known for their durability. The vast number of Lyle's BEST wins came via decision or very late stoppage. He was not by any means a knockout artist, and yes I do think its possible that Rocky Marciano at 185 Lbs hitter harder than he did...
