Overall, no way. Byrd was atleast consistent and had a long career. Douglas had one amazing night and got brutalized by Holyfeld and that was it for him.

    Vitali Klitschko?

At his best, he would trouble most heavyweights of the past solely because he is significantly taller and longer than most of them. But these comparisons are usually impossible due to the impact these earlier fighters had upon the sport which allowed for the education and development of the current era fighters. Kind of like asking could the egg beat the chicken (so to speak).

Based upon his skill set and demonstrated prowess one would have to assume he loses to all of them (assuming they are fighting at their best).

There are easily hundreds of better athletes of equivalent size than the Klitschkos. Wlad and Vitali might as well have been some NBA players in a brawl after a foul watching them flail, back pedal, panic, and fall in their first rounds against Corrie If I Trained I'd Kill Those Sisters Sanders. That is hardly the stuff of an all-time great. Their size and the absence of skilled, well conditioned big men in professional boxing (due to the lack of subsidy and the the subsidy/education provided by US colleges/universities as a feeder to the NFL/NBA/MLB) have provided a very misleading impression of their abilties. It all goes back to the comp you are facing (or not facing).

There should be many dozens of "Lennox Lewis" sized and talented opponents to test their metal (but they are off in the other sports). If the Klits had to fight real athletes (not the "C" level out of shape bums that couldn't make it in the NBA/NFL/MLB) and not enjoy a size and conditioning advantage it would be quite obvious that they are rather average athletes.

It's all good RUSKULL, it happens.

Whats you prediction on Chagaev/Wlad? I see Wlad getting the TKO around the 9th round, this after Chagaev eats over a 100 jabs and some right hands thrown in. He's going to take huge beatdown imo, Wlad has something to prove.

Hell yeah. Remember when Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Frazier, Holyfield, Lewis and Bowe all turned down NFL and NBA pro careers to become fighters? All those guys totally could've gone pro in other sports because they were "athletic" enough.

If the Klitschkos started going to the tanning beds frequently, I think we'd all be surprised at how "athletic" they could become.

Of course. I could just as easily see Lewis beating Vitali down like he did to Ruddock or Golota. Neither senario is a given is my point..............
