    No,Diaconu is fighting Pascal,not Branco.
It's voluntary, the WBC said it's voluntary as the Branco fight fell through for a stupid reason.

George versus Cloud would be more significant. Woods was never great and definitely has zero upside now.

Good for Dawson on this Johnson rematch. The peanut gallery has been extremely annoying regarding their first fight. People who have never even seen that match claiming that Johnson won.. Dawson is unpopular, but the bending of the truth and the facts in this case has been worse than many.

If he did this to fight Johnson then his stock goes up by a mile...he needed to rematch Johnson....thats pretty much the only blemish on his record right now

Provided Dawson beats Johnson again, I'll be very curious to see what excuse his haters will use to keep giving him ****. It'll be something, absolutely zero question about it.

Well...he did duck Cloud to rematch Johnson

    Just sayin of course.

EDIT: Unless I'm mistaken, Cloud is also represented by the same dude who represents Chris Henry, the LHW who suffered close losses to both Adrian Diaconu and Yusaf Mack. Perhaps they could set up Henry vs Cloud if he handles Woods.

HBO's got Dawson for now, but only for one more fight. That's the Johnson rematch.

Funny thing is, it didn't have to be that way; in order to retain Dawson, HBO wanted to co-feature Cloud on the Dawson-Johnson II card, with the understanding that HBO would televise a fight between the two provided they both won. Cloud's team declined that deal, which made it an easy choice not only for Chad to vacate, but putting HBO in a bit of a bind, as well.

Why? Think about it. The buzz about Dawson moving to 168 didn't come from nowhere, and with only 1 fight left on his HBO deal, it makes perfect sense for Chad to move down and go back to Showtime because that's where the 168 talent fights at. HBO needed to agree to show the Cloud fight, allowing Chad to keep his title, in order to keep him there and extend his deal with them.

Once Cloud said "no, thanks", the door opened for Chad to drop down in weight and move to Showtime after the Johnson rematch because there's nobody else at 175 HBO has to show him against, and Showtime's got the top Supermiddles.

This is for the best for Dawson long term. HBO was going to be happy showing him vs nobodies because they haven't taken the time to showcase anyone else around the weight range that they could build a big fight with him against.

Its a good move by Chad.

If he beats Johnson in the rematch, then he can go on to fight Cloud (hopefully he wins) and it will actually have some meaning, as he will now hold a win over Woods and have the belt.

Can Chad make 168 comfortably enough to fight there for a few years? He's a pretty big guy. Does anyone know if he had to do much drying out already to make LHW?

Two years ago he could have made it with ease, nowdays he would probably have to drain a bit to get down there.
