I agree completely. Generally speaking, if a boxer doesn't have a decent chin, he might as well find a different line of work. There are exceptions, where guys have other skills that can prevent their shaky whiskers from becoming an issue, but ability to take a punch is a critical attribute for a boxer to have.

Stamina. You can have the best chin, the best skills, the best power in the world but when you are running on fumes after 6 rounds its time to lose.

Stamina....You can have all the talent, but with no stamina your dommed after round 6th.
You can have all the skill, but if you're too tired to use it, your dommed.

Same goes with, power, speed etc...

How do you explain Roy Jones Jr's HOF and top 20/25 P4P career given you've maintained he always had a glass jaw Goomba?

Jones is a HOFer no doubt but he is not even close to being top 20-25 ATG or even P4P (which by the way is complete myth, fantasy, and conjecture)

It all depends on combinations. If you have great defense, you can get away with just a decent chin. If you a decent chin, decent defense, but great power, you can still be world class. If you only have a decent chin, bad defense, good power and great speed, again you can be world class. You can have a granite chin and never be world class, but I agree that it's the one thing that should never be below average, and should always be at least DECENT.

Periphial vision helps as well.....otherwise you will eat a lot of punches and
the ones you don't see are the ones that hurt the most.

Roy's resume compared to other LEGIT ATG's is absolute ****. His resume is a joke. It is littered with handpicked opponents and worthless Mandatory opponents for about a 6 year stretch.

Do you honestly think Roy's resume is close to a SRL or SRR or an Ali? Do you seriously think that because that is the caliber of fighter he is going against in the top 25 ATG's.

What we know is when Roy stepped up and started getting hit he got brutally KOed.

Quit trying to change the topic. Either discuss the original topic or go over to the British forum and talk about your miserable fighters.

Defense and ability to place punches. You can be the fastest in the world like Berto, but if you cant land punches cleanly, you are never gonna be more then average, like Berto.

Where's HEART on this list? That would be my pick- you can have the skills but if you aint got the heart then you're staying at the gym.
