I saw a 3 second slowed down GIF with Calzaghe flailing and Hopkins using the head.

So what?? At least he tried something different to cope with Hopkins and never got taught a lesson like Kelly did.

Slapping and intentional low-blows? Good move, still could barely pull a very controversial SD.

I don't know that you have stopped and thought about a few things.

#1; If you can't out jab Pavlik, it is highly unlikely that you can beat him.

#2; If you do not have the footwork to stay out of his way, you're probably in for a beating.

#3; Unless you have faster hands and more pop than Jermain Taylor, you probably can't hang with him in the middle of the ring.

#4; If you can't slip the jab with quick head movment, you are going to get hit with huge right hands, and end up on the back foot, and ultimately on the ropes, which is where Pavlik's victims go to die!

Now, out of those 4 things, which ones can Froch do?

The first low blow barely hit Hop. Hop pulled Joe's head down. The second one was complete bs. Joe Cortez said no Bhop he did not hit you low.

Let's just let this drop. We're hijacking the thread. If you want to argue in favor of your fraud we can do it in another one.

Now Taylor hits hard? Taylor hit Ouma and Spinks a good bit and never stunned them. Spinks and Ouma moved 2 fight Taylor.

I know I know you're absolutely right on paper Pavlik has most of the advanatges but what you didn't put down is the mental toughness Froch has an iron will to win. I really feel that he's on a mission when before I thought it was just talk. I might be wrong about him but sometimes you just have to go with your gut.:good

I think the poll indicates a ton of interest in this fight. It's certainly a fan friendly affair. I'm hoping it happens, but doubt if Froch will get past Bute.

We can end it by stating facts.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins. SD/robbery or whatever people think. He got the win.

Pavlik lost to Hopkins. Wide UD Hopkins trying to stop Kelly.

Simple. Personal opinions aside. Just the facts.

Back on topic I think both have the power to stop each other, both have stopped Taylor, both have been dropped by Taylor. Pavlik is the MW champion, Froch is a SMW champion. I dunno who I'd like to bet money on winning but I'd fancy Kelly to have the slightly faster hands that allow him to land his money shots before The Cobra can. Pavlik TKO.

The will to win is often a key factor in fights. Pavlik/Taylor I, and Froch/Taylor are both premier examples of this. Pavlik was one good uppercut away from obscurity. Froch was 14 seconds away from being labeled a hype job. Both pulled out the win. So, and this is odd, but "the will to win" is a non-factor in this one because both guys have so freaking much of it.

That puts us right back where we started. Styles make fights. Pavlik's jab, his long left hook, his right hand, his relentless attack, his chin, his superior hand speed and defense, and his work rate are just to much for Froch.
