I actually was thinking about this fight the other night and the styles of both fighters show that it would be a actioned packed fight. Clottey is the bigger man and would make Marquez fight because of his High guard but Marquez is great counter puncher and can adjust to any style and delt with Juan Diaz pressure very well. By the way, i'm picking Cotto to beat Clottey this saturday but in future I would like to see these 2 fighters meet up in the ring and I think it could happen. Who do you guys think wins this fight if ever comes off?

i dont understand how this is a fair match up....Clottey baloons to 170 lb when he rehidrates....how is Marquez going to cope with that?

    Clottey would knock him out

Doesn't mean he's the fighter though. And bigger doesn't mean better. This is why the fight would be interesting and Marquez is the better skilled fighter.

Clottey is incredibly skilled, he throws fast, sharp, short punches, cuts off the ring, and covers up well....and he is much much bigger. Marquez may be a better technician, but there is nothing he can throw to make Clottey go away....as much as I love Marquez, he would get beat up badly in this fight

He doesn't have to hurt him because he's consistent when he fights and Clottey doesn't have a lot of power either for a big man.

So let me ask you this? If Marquez shocks the world and beats Mayweather would you still pick Clottey to beat Marquez?

It would be a good fight @ LWW. We've yet to see JMM @ WW so you cannot accurately judge how he would fare. If you just compare abilities without thinking about the weight then for me it's JMM.

I don't see it having that much of an effect cause Clottey would have about the same weight advantage that he did against Judah and I don't think Marquez would move up to fight Mayweather if he wasn't confident that he could hold up good at the weight. And history has proven many of times that size isn't alway a big issue and that the smaller man wins if he's the better man. Clottey isn't better than Marquez. Marquez damn sure ain't gonna be hit the way Corrales did, that's for sure.
