Most of you probably already read this, but I'm gonna post this article link here. The part that irritates me is how he's talking **** about Mike Tyson's personal life which has no relevance to boxing at all. His daughter died, and about two weeks later, he got married. To me, that **** is strange, but it's his life...period! This is supermarket tabloid ****. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4249604&name=rafael_dan
He has been split from the girl's mom for 18 mos and with his new wife shortly afterward til now and still financially supports the woman and his child(r.i.p Exodus) Maybe he realzes he loves this woman and realizes time can be short and unpredictable and is lookin for stability and he sees this as a stabilizing force in his life.
Whether or not Rafael (who I'm not crazy about either) should have written an article about it is debateable, I suppose. I don't have that much of a problem with it, but I can see why some might. Nevertheless, I would imagine that all of us had a similar sort of reaction when we read that Tyson was getting married so soon after the death of his daughter. It's strange behavior.
No relevance to boxing at all? :huh You mean about Tyson, the FORMER PRO BOXER? Dude...it's a blog....just an opinion piece. He's paid to put opinion pieces together on occasion for ESPN. BTW...way to advertise it so MORE people go to it.
If he doesn't say it others will, I've already seen many different articles questioning his move. These guys make a living doing that.
He wasn't disrespectful and used Tyson's own words to give it a context. While not "boxing related" per se, I wouldn't class it as tabloid journalism. And as a few paragraphs in a "weekly random thoughts" column, it's not like it was treated as front page news. Citing any accusations made by Givens though as anything remotely resembling fact is a dodgy proposition without a huge caveat, I'll certainly go with that.
You're right, it really isn't bxing related and it does lean moe towards gossip or tabloid news. This kind of crap is below Dan Rafael he should stick to good ol' fashioned boxing news and leave this junk for the birds.
the one thing i like bout dan rafael is that he got connects and he gets exclusive news every week but that's about it
It's not always what you say, but how you say it... This content is protected That's sounds like some gay **** off of the view.
Exactly...he writes for the biggest sports media outlet in the world...you expect way more professionalism.
Dan does a good job usually. I like reading his rankings/scorecards. Dan was way off w/this caddy piece, but everyone has an off day. Tyson's had several.
