I was thinking about making a poll similar to this one, but I was going to include this idea as an option.
i want to see froch vs pavlik but i voted for pavlik vs AA because i smell ***** this fight should have happened time ago and i kno AA aint ducking pavlik because his the only reason AA is still at 160 so i wana see that **** happen soon
froch didnt get schooled by a 43 year old and if froch is 1 dimentional pavlik is just as **** as he is cause apparently the only thing pavliks trainer has trained him to do is double jab right
Pavlik got banged last time he fought at a higher weight, stay @ Middle its better for him at this point in his career
Ya Right -- I'm sure the whole middleweight division is scared shitless of the guy who lost 4 rounds to #43 ranked LuJaun Simon.
If Froch beats Bute, then I wouldn't mind seeing Pavlik go for that, it'd be a great fight. In fact, as long as we get to see him go after Abraham or the Bute-Froch winner, I'd be thrilled. If he fights Sturm or Paul Williams, I'd like those fights, too. I think those are the 4 fights that make the most sense right now for him. 1.Abraham 2.Froch-Bute 3.Sturm 4.Williams (another good win by Paul would put him into the top tier with #1 and 2)
The Pavlik-Abraham bout is the only fight @ middleweight that is out there, IMO. Let's see the SM's fight each other for the time being, too, before we start talking about Pavlik going up in weight again- the second win against Taylor, albeit most rematches can be pensive (I did say most before people bring up Vasquez and Marquez!), and the schooling by B-Hop are good reasons to stay where Pavlik's most comfortable, IMO.
yh i agree i tell you what i think the plan was arum thought by beating hopkins he can get the bigger split for pavlik for the AA fight but hopkins kicked his ass and now pavliks confidence is in tatters
It's like this at the end of the day: Arum wanted Abraham to raise his stock in America. HOW Arum figured they'd do this? I dunno. Don't ask me. Then again why Arum believes Pavlik is a super mega draw who needs to fight opponents with a raised stock is well beyond me entirely. Anyways Abraham's people had a bunch of options lined up (Abraham fighting on limited PPV, Fighting Vernon Forrest on Showtime, Fighting Lorenzo on a douleheader wtih Pavlik) and they all fell through. Arum sensing no need to "risk it" as one would say has pretty much written Abraham off the map. Abraham vs Pavlik is the fight I want to see. Pavlik vs Froch would be great but it lacks that...snap so to speak.
I hate to say it -- but it's all about the money. Sauerland wants a BIG pay day for Arthur, and Arum wants a BIG pay day for Kelly. Considering what is on the line both promoters and both fighters are right to want big money. Unfortunately Pavlik and Abraham aren't exactly household names. Even together they would not do big PPV numbers. Arum has consistently asked Sauerland to do one thing; build AA's profile in the states. For whatever reason Sauerland hasn't made much effort to do that. In fact he seems to have done just the opposite by turning down fights with Wright and Zuniga in order to match Arthur with guys like Ayala and Simon.
yh i know but i tell you what i find funny regardless f weather or not abraham is a draw in the u.s is irrelevant because this fight would generate more money than say mora vs pavlik or lockett vs pavlik besides AA is also a belt holder so its an oppourtnity for pavlik to beat an unbeaten fighter make some nice money and be called undisputed champ whats not to like?
