Not as evident to me... Quintana is not a top welterweight in the world at the moment and was not at the time Cotto stepped up to fight for a 147 pounds title. Zab Judah was a top league man but he was coming back from a 1 year suspension since the Mayweather family affair. Antonio Margarito was actually the underdog but beat him. It leaves Shane as his great victory but that was a close and disputed contest result too. Joshua Clottey is a titlist but, hey, he's not Paul Williams, he's no Floyd Mayweather, he's no Manny Pacquiao, he's not Andre Berto, he's not even Shane Mosley that already fought Cotto and those are the best welters along with Cotto himself.

    Sig worthy.

Because when I think about Welter weight excellence I think Andre Berto.

    Leaky Defence for the win!:good

Mayweather's career didn't start when you started watching boxing, he has fights in lower weights all the way to Jr. Middleweight. Cotto didn't even clean out 140 and failed to clean out 147.

My point is that he cleaned out TWO divisions before those.
