The rumour that his pull out was a financial based decision rather than an injury won't go away. Apparently he was asked to take a pay cut by the ailing TV network Setanta which was his main source of income from the fight. Haye was to receive no share of the ticket sales or any of the German TV money.

    People's thoughts.

i beleive he was injuried, till proven otherwise, seeing now that sentanta has been saved....even if he wasnt getting his cut if setanta went under....

why put your life on the line in boxing and not get paid? either way haye made a good choice imo

That's hardly the point though is it? If we've been spun a lie, that's pretty serious in my book.

true, but imagine if haye came out and said look, i'm not getting paid due to my main provider going under so i pull out of the fight....he would look even more disgraceful then what it is.....

if we find out haye wasnt really injuried it will look worse, but look at the whole circumstances at the time.

If that is the case why not tell everyone the truth? I think it is a very valid reason not to put your life on the line, and much better than pulling out with a fake injury if he is not injured.

I don't think it would. Apart from a few trolls on here, most wouldn't expect Haye to fight for free. If it later emerges it was a convoluted story it's going to look really bad for him.

His entire earnings for the fight were coming from UK tv as I understand it. Klitschko really didnt want the fight so drove such a hard bargain that he would receive monies from the tickets sales, German tv and American tv, plus a double rematch clause

see this is what makes me think haye is really injuried, he did the interview where he said he will be ringside for wlad-chagaev, and he was gutted he couldnt do the fight, and seemed really let down......and i dont think haye's team will never allow a leak to the press that he faked an injury...i do believe he was hurt, at first i wasnt sure, but now since setanta has been saved, i think he was hurt.

He wouldn't have known Setanta were going to be saved at the time though.

I think he was actually injured. If Setanta had gone tits up then Haye would end up with nothing. The contractual side of things was complicated enough in the build up vbut for Haye it did rely on Setanta's financial future. So, whilst it may seem as if it's more than a coincidence he could have just claimed there was a dispute over money / contract rather than fake an injury, which he would later have to prove.

Main thoughts would be 'why didn't you just read one of the numerous existing threads rather than start your own?'

As previously, conspiracy theory makes no sense. If the pullout was financially motivated, why do it weeks before the fight when Setanta's position was still up in the air, rather than waiting to see which way the wind blow.

Haye was clearly gutted at missing out on the fight, unless you think he's that good an actor.

K2 believe he is injured, only internet randoms give this any credence at all.
