    Discuss!

These two guys had little love for each other out of the ring, following Lewis's win in the 1988 Olympic Final. It is widely considered that Bowe (along with his manager) blatantly ducked Lewis.

Taking their styles into account and the mental edge Lennox had, I can only see one result.... Lewis by stoppage.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, I gotta pick Lewis in this one. Had the tools and the mental edge to beat Bowe, probably on points.

Bowe threw one of his belts in the bin (literaly) rather than face Lewis, didn't he?

I'd like to suggest Steve Collins v Joe Calzaghe; the fight was mooted at the end of Collins' career.

I'm not so sure about this one. Chances are the fight would have happened had Lewis not got sparked by McCall. Pretty big case of looking past your opponent from Lewis.

Lewis at that stage didn't have Manny in his corner from memory and was still green really. Bowe was a really unpredictable fighter too, he could fight like crap at times and then other times he looked like a great. I would lean towards Lewis because of the mental edge having already knocked Bowe out and he would train harder for this than any fight in his life.

I was thinking Bowe before 1993 or 92 then Lewis after you caught me off guard here

Lewis i would say he was heading into his early peak here in my opinion i think Lewis would edge out a UD.

I fancy Lewis for this as he had a bit more to him by now.

Think pre steward Bowe had the physical edge over Lewis.
However Bowe shamelessly ducked him so maybe he didn't have the self belief that was needed?

    Maybe not the best idea.

I tried that on here a while back; only one person voted for Harrison...............and that was Dunky.

    Benn/Eubank/Collins/Graham/Calzaghe v Toney.

JT beats them all, knocking out Benn and outpointing the others.

Those guys didn't want any of Toney back in the day, see the Jonathan Ross show for evidence.

& that just shows I know more about boxing than most in here.

Hamed was good, very good. He was no elite fighter or hall of famer though.
All the Naz loving on ESB makes me laugh, especially when all of his huggers couldnt even answer a question I posted here a while back about him.
I stand by my claim that the Scotty Harrison who beat McCullough & Brodie would have beaten Prince naz, although I have to admit the Scotty Harrison who lost to Medina would have lost to the Hamed who beat Steve Robinson.
You see, its a complicated argument when we look at it in detail, but most here dont, & just click on boxrec & read "Scott harrison had a loss to Medina, Hamed beat Medina, therefore Hamed wins!!!

aah the beauty of Boxrec, it helps morons talk like they know boxing. Until they meet real boxing fans like moi though. Then their arguments get exposed.
**** what some silly ESB poll says, most boxing fans here dont know ****, & thats the truth.

I mean, as if the Scotty Harrison who pummeled McCullough would lose to the Hamed who ran like a chicken against him...
You see? Arguments arent as cut & dried as simply looking at boxrec.
& this post aint aimed at you, its aimed at everyone who uses boxrec as their only bargaining tool when discussing 'what if' fights.

A more ideal thread would be 'The Scott Harrison who beat Michael Brodie against the Prince naz who beat Steve Robinson- who wins? But thats wishful thinking from me, cos everyone would just pick Naz for the reasons I already stated above in my post.

& people wonder why Im so arrogant on here sometimes, its cos the place is full of plastic boxing fans. The real good posters here will know exactly what I mean, even if they dont agree that any version of Scott harrison would beat any version of Hamed.

See what Im saying here? Well do you??????

Dont even answer that one, cos when it comes to Naz(loved on this forum) compared to Harrison(hated on this forum) its like whistling in the wind trying to get a decent bit of debate, as the damn fool polls prove. Half the people that voted on it probbly werent even born when Naz retired:lol:

Dunky, Naz operated at a higher level for far, far longer than Harrison. that's why people pick him, and that doesn't mean they lack knowledge.

for my money though peak Naz beats peak Harrison, whenever you might pick those peaks to be.

and Lewis beats Bowe every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Naz beat a "better", younger version of McCullough than Harrision IMHO and the styles was always going to mean that Harrision met him head on while Naz would outbox him. Both fighters got the win though, thats what matters.
