Stereotype?! What in the hell are you talking about now?! Now you think I'm talking crap about you because I think you're Cotto fan?!atsch I was arguing with you because you have somekind of deluded fantasy in your head thinking I was trashing Cotto. I was criticizing his gameplan, not talking ****. There's a difference, numbnuts! Holy **** what an idiot... I'm through arguing with you moron. PEACE.
Criticism isn't double standards, people just give their opinion on the fight, it doesn't make people assholes or idiotic because you disagree and it doesn't make them smart when you agree either. The fight was nothing worth bragging about, both guys showed ENDLESS flaws if anything and those flaws mean a lot for future fights, especially for Cotto. Cotto still leans down and is WIDE open for uppercuts, what the hell is wrong with him there?, got me yelling at the damn screen for not doing it at some points and he STILL does it, it's in his blood. Clottey has no stamina too as I previously stated and his activity is **** poor, you give a shot to death Corrales coming off two damaging losses and blown up who was OUT since round 7 and he couldn't finish him, that was enough proof to me that he was going to fail in doing so tonight even though he COULD have. For me I don't mind they gave it to Cotto and I don't mind if they gave it to Clottey. Clottey is not a championship type of fighter, a gate keeper at best is my pick and I always said so. Cotto on the other hand can give anyone a decent fight but is also a KO waiting to happen.
Clottey also gave Margarito a very tough fight. Basically it sounds like you had heightened expectations. I said Cotto would win a close disputed SD because that's what Clottey is. Good enough to run the marathon but not great enough to cross the finish line. Basically it sounds like you thought REALLY low of Clottey.
It's not Clottey that frustrated, he is what I said he was going to be, a decent fighter, overrated power, good chin, half decent skills, waits a lot and lacks stamina. The guy is a gate keeper type of fighter who will give anyone a decent test while he lasts and that's where it ends. It's the mistakes Cotto doesn't plan to change that pisses me off, I didn't see ANY improvement there especially kneeling down and welcoming uppercuts with open arms. Nothing new from Cotto basically in my view, I know he got cut and all of that, I'm not denying that, I'm talking about his style of fighting. Much respect to him for coming back from that cut like Clottey came back from the knee injury. As I said I just rate both on the same level and even if it was a draw I wouldn't have argued.
I agree with Scar. I enjoyed the fight cause I saw it live, and I thought Cotto was looking vulnerable in some rounds and was gonna get KO'd and I wanted him to comeback. I didn't find either impressive. Clottey is a guy that could lose 120-108 to mayweather. We'll see. Cotto looked vulnerable.
Then it sounds wrong to you. Clottey gave Margarito a very tough fight, broke his hand and ran out of gas in round 4. You put him in there with a pressure fighter who forces him to work and his stamina issues shine earlier. I didn't think too high on Cotto nor too low on Clottey, what I said is exactly what Clottey provided if you read previous posts. I just expected Cotto to do a better job and at least AVOID some of the stupid previous mistakes he made which frustrate me as hell being a fan of his.
ALso, I have been saying my main worry was Cotto's camp. I thought it was too short. Now, I think I was right. Cotto needs to improve his stamina
It's courageous and all but still fighters fight through that. Vitali had half his face literally sliced off and nearly went blind and he was fighting like Lewis was cut.
You'd need to define gatekeeper for me. Clottey to me is a top 5 WW who just can't beat the elites. Calling him a gate keeper to me is a little unfair. He is what he is dude. The guy isn't going to suddenly sprout into a different fighter. The main difference was his heart which didn't give out when the going got REALLY really tough. As per the uppercuts, again they are what they are and everyone has their issues.
