Dumb seems a bit harsh! He certainly was not as agressive down the stretch as he should have been..why??? Fatigue??? Respect for the opponent??/ a feeling that the win was already sealed??? Not sure but lack of inteligence does not seem to be the issue!

Good point and good question. After watching enough of Clottey, I have realized that despite all the bravado of making himself look like he never gets hurt, he doesn't have a granite chin like some people think, he does feel the punches, and he lacks heart. I say he lacks heart, because I've noticed that when the going gets tough, he backs off and comes up with ways to complain instead of looking for ways to hurt the other guy.

Aside from all the acrobatics Clottey displayed - he did give a very good account of himself. Cotto demonstrated that he has that champions edge to pull out fights when it gets tough. Still in spite of the wide margins in the scores, it was a very competitive battle that will definitely be added to my collection.

If any fight deserves a rematch .... this was it. The only question is - do both Cotto & Clottey want to relive it.

I had Cotto winning. I don't think Cotto fully adapted from the cut until Clottey won the 8th round by a huge margin. Prior to that the rounds were swinging back and forth. I think Cotto made the nessecery adjustments (people call it running) and this stopped Clottey doing his thing, he couldn't hit a moving target and his aggresiveness was nullified. Also didn't help that he barely threw any punches in the championship rounds. Clottey said he didn't want to waste his punches, but you need to take risks.

I would definatly like to see a rematch, hopefully without the cut, it did play a major part in the fight.

cotto still needs to learn how to clinch, he burns up too much energy bouncing around the ring. You can be damn sure if mayweather was fighting clottey tonight he would have chosen to outbox and not out fight.

Cotto showed why he is the champion tonight. Nevertheless clottey should be given his rematch. Cotto's still too damn proud to clinch once in a while.

I'm not looking to disrespect Clottey, I kinda like the guy. Unfortunately he is going to be seen as a high risk low reward type opponent to many bigger names probably including Cotto. I do think Cotto had him hurt in that 1 round (not the first, LOL) can't remember the round (5?) where Clottey basiclly lived in the corner... I doubt it was heart, but I can't come with a good response of why he was so unaggressive!

I scored it a draw, but can't complain about Cotto winning a split decision. I want to watch it again tomorrow and rescore it.

Good fight! Lots of drama. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :good

Got the fight at 114-113 for Clottey. It was a close fight, and there is no reason that one should lead by 116-111 as scored by one judge. That's was plain stupid.

Very disappointing indeed! I still had Cotto winning by 1, and could justifiably give him 1 close rd...but I don't know where 116 came from?? Anyone else score it that wide???
