Cotto's cut had more of an impact on him than Clottey leg injury imo and yet he still managed to win a close fight. That said, with no injuries and a neutral site, I'd favor Cotto.
Not sure...rematches are tricky. It depends who learned the most, and who makes the best adjustments. I'm up in the air at the moment.
Man people keep forgetting that if it wasn't the knockdown that Clottey could easily won the 1st 2 rounds before the cut occur? In which it shows without the cuts or not the fight would still be close. And for that say the cut is worse then a leg injury need to get reality check. Even though Cotto got a bad cut, he still was landing hard punches and was moving well while Clottey after he was hurt by a leg injury, couldn't throw and move that better cause throwing hard punches must come from the leg to bend and Clottey couldn't do it that well cause of the leg injury but i won't make that leg injury as an excuse just like the rest of you people need to stop with the cut as an excuse. It was a close very good fight. Both Fighters fought their hearts out. It's a damn shame MANY HERE BASHING BOTH OF THOSE FIGHTERS.
You are not neutral ****, do'nt fool anyone like i say it before i have seen a lot of post of you abd you not like Cotto at all.
I agree that it ws a close fight that could have gone either way and kudos to both fighters for showing the bosing world the hearts of champions. BTW, is that carmen electra in your avy? she looks like 3 month preggy but very sexy still.
Look, we understand English isn't your first language (which is cool, it's good to have people from all backgrounds here), but I didn't say This content is protected was neutral, I mean if it's not fought in the 'hometown' of a fighter where the crowd and judges may favor them. That is what 'neutral site' refers to.
Cotto better not ever set foot in the ring with Clottey outside of NYC. He got lucky tonight in all kinds of ways.
Sorry i understand english well just didn't read the post completly, sorry that a bad one for me, i was sick of seing this tread that i acted naturally, i was going to delete the post but you awsered fast enought, still i think you have taken this too serously.
Here's how Cotto's cut affected him: He got nervous that the fight might get stopped, and so he went into a kind of 'adrenaline rush' and started trading a lot more than he probably would have normally. I think he did this for like 1-2 rounds. Then he started calming down. This is why he was so tired/in 'retreat' mode for much of the second half of the fight. He had expended so much energy when the cut came and it wore him out. That would be different in a no-cut fight. I think Clottey's leg hurt him for sure. He kept slipping and losing his balance for no reason, and that, IMO, was because of the leg. And, he may have had more trouble chasing down Cotto because of the leg.
Cotto win by tko next time around, at this level clottey needs to take risks. He can not just lay on the ropes and chill
