I had it 115-113 for Cotto at first but i just re-watched,no bias,sound off and this is what I came up with.At this level Clottey needs to be more active and go for the kill he just can not lay on the ropes and get hit. Cotto 10 10 10 9 9 10 9 10 9 10 10 10 Clottey 8 9 9 10 10 9 10 9 10 9 9 9 116-111 For Cotto
He wasnt getting hit. He was blocking Cotto's punches with his gloves. Its called a defense. How you gave Cotto rounds 2 and 3 and 10 astounds me.
watch the fight again (sound off) cotto won the first three round clearly.Round 10 was an even round but clottey got caught with two left hooks at the end of the round ,the second one landed clearly. They did not throw a lot of punches (clottey 50 cotto 44) but cotto stole the round at the end
Nonsense. Clottey was landing clean blows and Cotto was landing on his gloves. Gloves =/= head or body. Those are not scoring punches. Clotteys defense was tight, Cotto was lack luster as always. Clotteys jab was constantly getting through his defense. You score the whole round. Not what one fighter does in the last 15 seconds. If Clottey is winning the first 2 minutes of the fight, and Cotto wins the last 30 seconds. Its clotteys round.
Ok this kind of words are enought to understand that you are in the Cotto hating wagon. as simply at that people do not take this guy serius.
I had it 7-5 for Clottey. I thought he was doing a great job most of the fight. He was blocking most of Cotto's punches with his turtle guard, putting the pressure, using the uppercut as Cotto is vulnerable to it, and taking advantage of the cut. Cotto had the edge in the fight before the cut and Clottey turned it around Margo style. If Clottey was a lot bussier he might have ended the fight. Clottey also appeared to have a shaky leg after the fall and seemed it was affecting him for a while.
His defense was lackluster. However I think its clear Cotto isnt the same fighter. I thought he'd be able to outbox Clottey comfortably, he lost the first 3 rounds without the knock down.
The first was obviously Cotto, but I think Clottey won the second or third pretty easily, I gotta watch it again though.
