Too many topics on Cotto people are ignoring this. Am I the only one that had this a draw too?, should a rematch happen?

This isn't the first fight Calderon ends up busted open from a headbutt. Mayol was doing good and was there to win, as the fight went I was thinking we might have an upset till the butt ruined it.

Calderon is past his best and that cut he suffered against Cazares would ruin his last days of his carrer.

rounds 1 and 6 were clearly mayol's and rounds 3 and 5 were clearly calderon's so a draw is really a possibility. i think mayol would have won by decision if that fight continued. but that's just me. if he pressed the action and landed about ten more punches, he would have a title wrapped around his waist now.

    there should be a rematch

Neither guy had really stamped their authority in the fight, it was only getting going...its a shame it was cut short.

A rematch probably isnt a must..given this stage of Calderon's career Id understand why he wouldnt pursue it..but Id like to see it.

Damn, wish the fight continued. Didn't see it... hopefully though Mayol gets a rematch that he rightfully deserves.

And I got **** for saying Calderon is over-rated. If this guy is so great why is he struggling and drawing with a guy who was stopped easily by Ulises Solis?

^In Mayol's defense Solis didn't stop him "easily." Mayol could've won that fight if he didn't get too careless.

Did you actually watch the Solis-Mayol fight or did you look it up on Boxrec?

It was the first fight on the TV undercard of the Morales-D. Diaz fight.

Mayol was ahead by a slight margin and had Solis badly hurt in the 5th. He knocked him down (it was incorrectly ruled a slip) and after slowly getting up Solis was saved by the bell.
In the 6th Mayol was opening up to try to finish the job, traded, and Solis caught him.

It was also Mayol's first fight in the U.S., and his first fight at 108.

No way was he "easily stopped."
