Uhh there isn't one mention of him not fighting out of Australia... just that he MAY be the prize on offer to the winner of the contender... if you ask me that's a pretty cool concept...

    A) it's a good opportunity for some upcoming fighters to get some names out there
    B) It will put boxing into some kind of Australian prime time... a first for a long time
    C) It's a real prize. Not a dodgy title shot at the "Insert unknown boxing organisation hre" title... it's a shot at Mundine. Aus's highest profile boxer
    D) The prize is a chance to knock out Mundine... do you know how many people will eagerly watch this person compete to try and knock out the most hated celebrity in Australia????

All good reasons to do this to me so stfu?

Also, please show me in the article where is says Mundine has said he won't fight somewhere else in the meantime?

I don't agree with all his decisions, but put it this way mate, Choc hasn't done a thing wrong since moving to middleweight. He's fought Taylor to confirm his mandatory WBA challenger status as Taylor was WBA top 10 and then fought Geale to win the IBO title.

At this moment in time, this article serves no purpose as it is basing it on hearsay and putting it's agenda to knock Choc instead of promoting the tournament. If Mundine tommorrow goes out and says he's fighting Darren Obah, then an article like this would be deserved. But that hasn't happened yet and hopefully doesn't for us all.

agreed, any exposure is good exposure.

although i beg to differ that mundine is australia's highest profile boxer. He may have the biggest profile IN australia, but the world is a much bigger place than oz, especially in boxing. More O/S boxing fans would know Vic and even Rocky b4 mundane.

yeh read this story yesterday and its once again just pure speculation by the daily telegraph.
just needed to keep the paper sales up.
All stories in the daily telegraph about mundine are always wrong.
i have never seen anything they write or predict actually happen.
Mundine is currently working hard on pavlik deal and should know for sure in next 3 weeks.

And how exactly do you know this? You have some inside information we don't know about? Cos if you can't substantiate anything then it's a pointless thing to say.

Judging by what Mundine has said about his aspirations and intentions in the past, and what he then sets out to do, I would think it is a reasonable assumption that his next fight will be nothing to get excited about.

I will believe it when I see it.

After the amount of times Mundine has said he will fight the top guys only to have him come up with some bull**** excuse I wouldnt expect anyone to believe he will step up.

For crying out loud. His uncle Mick told ya did he. Don't believe what people say or tell ya mate. Anthony has been saying that he's chasing the big fights for 3 or 4 years now and we are still waiting or maybe Anthony considers Crazy Kim or Sam Soliman big fights. Anthony is now 34 yrs old and clearly past his prime. If you honestly believe that he will now step up than i feel sorry for you because you are extremely naive.

Mate to be honest mundine does know its now or never.
Earlier on it was fair enough to avoid the big fights as big losses couldve ended his career prematurely, but now at 34 its now or never.
If he looses a couple of fights now he can say i was ready to hang the gloves up soon anyway, and i won 3 titles blah, blah blah etc.
He wont go out quietly, thats for sure.
Just give it 3 weeks or so and well see.

Fine i will give it 3 weeks as you say but i don't think he will step up for 1 second and if he doesn't i would like you to have a chat to Uncle Mick and Tony Mundine and ask them why they are telling you BS. Seriously i'm a fan of Anthony's talent but am sick of him fighting garbage year after year whilst trying to act like a mix of Roy Jones and Floyd Mayweather.
