Kellerman was fairly neutral tonight I thought. Lampley was PRO Cotto and Manny was riding the staff of Clottey.
manny was ridiculous last night. it was embarassing and i'll admit it was really ****ing hard not to let it influence judging. when a commentator that you normally respect quite highly acts like a junior high cheerleader, it skews how you view the fight
Clottey had the fight in his hands and decided to coast in the last few rounds. No one to blame but himself.
Cotto could just have called the cards after the 4th.... but that's how real champs do, he kept on going with a badly injured left eye... Cotto was there for the taking with that injury, but Clotteu instead chose to show his acting skills.... Clottey couldn't close the show... he knew that at MSG he had to have a strong full 12 rd. show, but he COULD NOT do it, then, those last two rds showed who the better fighter was.......... You cannot win a 12 rd. fight by having a good show from the 7th through the 10th rds.... btw, rd 6 could have been a 10-8 for Cotto... COTTO WON, LIKE IT OR NOTTTTTTTTT..... AND HE DID SO FAIRLY.... GREAT CHAMP!!
Since that judge is from the Youngstown, Ohio area I know a little bit about him. HBO made it sound like they were a bunch of bums brought in. This guy is pretty much sought after because of his high record. That means that most of the time his rounds match the other judges rounds scoring the same fight over 90% of the time. Agree with his card or not last night, he is well respected in the business. http://www.vindy.com/news/2009/feb/24/boxing-judge-miller-regarded-among-the-best/
Wow.... you guys are crying more than ****ing Clottey.. He lost get over it. Yes I do understand that 116-111 score was bull****, but Cotto did win that fight regardless.
