The fight was there for Clottey. We need to see Floyd-Pac before Pac-Cotto!

I have a lot more respect for Cotto than I ever did, but Cotto can't beat Pac or Floyd...no offense Cotto fans.

I had Clottey winning by one point 114-113, but I didn't find the decision dubious...just a bit disappointing. I saw Clottey win 7 rounds, and Cotto 5 with the extra point for the knockdown. I don't fault how the judges saw the fight as I predicted Cotto would win just how I thought he would. Cotto would probably get credit for punches that didn't land, but he also landed more than I thought he would also.

The fight was there for Clottey. He took command in the middle rounds, and then it seemed that he had to rest. He may have rested too long. Clottey never got going again. Clottey was asked why he didn't go after Cotto with 2 rounds left, and Clottey gave a superb answer to Lamp who did a very good interview with the fighters. He was asked why he didn't pick it up in the last two rounds. Clottey said that Cotto is a smart fighter and that he couldn't just walk in on Cotto. Cotto used his foot work very well in this fight. The butt was bad, but Cotto fought on.

The fight was there for Clottey, and with the fight at the Garden, Clottey had to finish strong. The score of 116-111 is about as terrible as it gets in boxing. Cotto looks ordinary when faced with a guy who is just as strong as him. Neither fighter was hurt at all. The final rounds weren't defining rounds, but Cotto did well considering he didn't have anything but a decent cutman in his corner. This wasn't a tough fight to score. Props to both fighters for gutting it out with their injuries.

This is actually a reasonable post apart from Cotto not being able to beat Pac lol.

I still feel Clottey needs to keep that ****ing African Ivory head with its jagged edges away from his opponent. The guy is just an animal when it comes to using the head.

That was a very bad cut and for me the fight didn't really prove a lot as a result of it.

 

It was an inadvertent butt. Neither was at fault.

You know what was funny to see? The round wasn't even close to being over and Clottey it seemed was being cut off at times by the ref, and the ref even bumped him like twice lol... WTF was that about???

 

Lederman had it 6 rounds a piece with Cotto winning with the knockdown. The foul when Clottey was hit behind the head was foul, and a big no-point taken, non-deduction that basically sealed Clottey's fate. The throw down was Cotto keeping Clottey off of him who did try to grab Cotto behind the neck when cornered.

Clottey is a disgrace with his use of the head. He is CONSTANTLY in fights where there is a cut, butting and he was even disqualified against Baldomir for use of the head.

 

What, Cotto fights by the rules all of the time? Yesterdays butt was an accident.
