Cotto just isnt that good PPL

Cotto is my favorite fighter. But we need to face reality, PBF will counter punch the hell of Cotto. I want to see a rematch to really judge.

 

Cotto is good and can give anyone trouble, I've always said this being a fan of his BUT he is beatable and all it takes is pressure. If you keep the pressure on him, make him miss or be able to take his punches you will eventually break him down. Torres was on his way to doing it but ran out of gas and got KO'd for his trouble, Mosley had him out of there numerous times but didn't follow up for some reason and imitated "Joshua Clottey".

Overall he's still a good fighter and he's still the same Cotto he was before losing to Margarito. Improvements need to be make with his defense or he gets KO'd again and very soon.

 

Yeah, getting hit a lot with using one eye and covering and cleaning that cut.
You all know that he was winning before the cut and was moving good.
For sure he can do well with any top fighter, like him.
Cotto should rest then fight pacquiao. that was a very huge cut.

 

Cotto is World class and has great skill to boot. Yeah, he has flaws, but who doesn't??

 

Cottos faces adversity against every ranked fighter. Thats why we love watching him fight. And if he isnt that good he wouldnt have beaten the fighters he fought already.

 

Cotto lives life on the edge and that's why i'm a big fan.

 

winning before the cut?? besides the knockdown clottey dominated the first three rounds landing precision punches and taking most of cottos on his guard

 

What's confusing is that many on here picked Clottey and when he lost, somehow that makes Cotto ****???

Either Clottey was never that good to begin with or Cotto beat a good fighter.

 

good call. cotto's poison is strong relentless pressure. and he will always have problems with fighters like margarito and clottey. fighters who dont know how to take a step back to allow cotto to set himself. he is at his best against movers where he gets to dictate the pace and pressure. otherwise, he is in for a wild ride.

 

p.s totally agree with the thread starter but it didnt take me til last night to see this i was saying way before this fight.

Cotto won the first ****in' round 10-8. Clottey did NOTHING special to deserve the nod for the last one. Neither fighter did anything special to decisively get the round. Up until the KD. Then it was a 10-8.

The 2nd round WAS a Clottey. I'll give you that.
