On a side note, i agree with Dan, Bob Arum is just using Cotto for leverage in negotations for Pac Mayweather..

He may suck as a judge but he's an exceptional reporter.

Indeed. I think Cotto resentment for Margarito compounded with Margarito's insistence that he was oblivious to his trainer's actions makes a rematch an inevitability whenever Margo's license is reinstated.

Do you think he's torn, maybe not wanting to give Margo a payday or a step back into the big time if he wins?

I don't think that will be an issue. Cotto wishes to avenge is only defeat that has been heavily scrutinized in the aftermath.

I worry that Cotto will lose in the meantime. He's certainly going to have an interim fight between now and February, which is presumably the earliest date Margarito's license can be reinstated. If he fights Pacquiao, I could see him being beaten. The same is true with Mosley, Mayweather, and Williams. Maybe he'll get Berto, whom he could put a beating on.

If Cotto is beaten in the interim, that would only enhance the likelihood of this fight taking place sooner rather than later imo. As long as he keeps winning, there will be a public push for him to face Pac or PBF which are both more lucrative fights thus more attractive possibilities for Cotto.
