    Cotto - Clottey

    Round 1 10-8 Cotto

    Needs no explanation

    Round 2 9-10 Clottey

    Only Clottey landed significant shots.

    Round 3 10-9 Cotto

Very close round, Cotto seems to be busier.

    Round 4 9-10 Clottey

I really don't know why many people consider it a one-sided round for Cotto. Clottey landed pretty heavily in the middle of the round and Cotto did not land clean shots.

    Round 5 9-10 Clottey

    Needs no explanation.

    Round 6 10-9 Cotto

    Needs no explanation.

    Round 7 9-10 Clottey
    Round 8 9-10 Clottey
    Round 9 9-10 Clottey

These rounds need no explanation, anyone who does not give them to Clottey is biased. Even Lampley gave them to Clottey.

    Round 10 9-10 Clottey

All Cotto did during the round was to try to avoid confrontation and defend himself. Clottey pressed the action, launched more punches, landed more punches.

    Round 11 Cannot decide - 10-10

Very close round to score, perhaps 10-10 would the better score, but one can give it to Cotto as well. Same amount of punches landed, Clottey working harder, Cotto more constantly. I really cannot make up my mind.

    Round 12 - Cotto

    Need no explanation.
So I have it 115-113 Clottey. However, if you give all close rounds to Cotto (2,3,4,11), You will have it 115-112 Cotto. I just don't think it's fair to give him the nod in all the even rounds. Clottey landed more in all 4 all them as far as I remember.

Having rewatched the fight, giving Cotto the 11th I say 114-113 Clottey.

clottey outlanded cotto and had him running scared for the last 5 rounds. there is no if's and's or but's. you cant say cotto outboxed clottey because clottey outlanded him by a ****ing huge margin. you cant say cotto outfought clottey because the ***** was running scared for his life the last half going into survival mode. you cant say ****. clottey won and better get a ****ing rematch. +260 - i dont know how the **** you get odds like that anyways for a guy like joshua.

    1) Cotto + KD - 10-8
    2) Clottey - 19-18
    3) Cotto - 29-27
    4) Cotto - 39-36
    5) Clottey - 48-46
    6) Cotto - 58 - 55
    7) Clottey - 67 - 65
    8) Clottey - 76-75
    9) Clottey - 85-85
    10) Cotto - 95-94
    11) Clottey - 104-104
    12) Cotto - 114-113.

It was a final round fight, Clottey fought exceptional in patches and had outstanding defense but the knock down in the first round combined with several rounds he took off meant the aggression and volume of punches won those rounds for Cotto.

I felt the combination punching that Cotto put on Clottey, combined with how many times he had Clottey pinned to the ropes adversed to where Clottey constantly let Cotto off the ropes cost him.

Both guys are absolute warriors though, I'd love to see a rematch but Clottey has to watch that head of his, it's becoming a factor in a high number of his fights.

Good to see Cotto guts out a victory like this too - really starts to put some heat on Margarito and the whole handwrap issue in my view.

You need to learn boxing. The problem you have here is that you don't understand a round by round scoring system.

If you say to me "Clottey landed more shots and dominated the rounds he won more effectively than Cotto did" - I absolutely agree. The rounds that Clottey went to work, he was far more precise than Cotto.

The problem was - he didn't go to work enough, especially considering the first round knock down. Cotto kept busy throughout the fight and was gifted the victory by the laziness of Clottey.

Clottey can complain all he wants about close decisions going against him, but when his punch count drops away every second round and he allows decisions to go so close, he only has himself to blame.

So, in closing... learn how to ****ing score round by round before making stupid posts like this.

    :patsch

    ....

Cotto clearly won the 11th and 12th, landed 2 good left hook at the end of the 10th and won the 9th on my scorecard. Clottey won most of the middle rounds but face it Joshua didn't do enough late. I know you've been a big fan of his for a few years but he didn't win the last 5 rounds.

    1) Cotto kd

    2) Cotto close round I felt he was just busier as not many significant punches from either

    3) Clottey close but Clottey was landing the more effective punches Cotto through but not landing clean.

    4) Clottey I feel took this more convincing than the third though similar as previous round.

5)Clottey just getting the better of Cotto

    6) Cotto mauled him on the ropes Joshua was throwin back and landing just too inactive.

    7) Clottey he was throwing some accurate combos

    8)Clottey close just more effective

    9) Clottey outlanded and outwork Cotto most of the round.

10)Cotto close moved better and outworked Clottey

11)Clottey close felt he was more effective

    12) Cotto close just worked better Clottey complaining made the round look better for Cotto.

Clottey by 2 rounds and 1 point due to the knockdown. This was a fight that was pretty close there were many close rounds to score. In the end Clottey was the more effective fighter with his accuracy and staying out of harms way.

    Cotto - Clottey

    01 10-8
    02 9-10
    03 10-9
    04 10-9
    05 9-10
    06 10-9
    07 9-10
    08 9-10
    09 9-10
    10 9-10
    11 10-9
    12 10-9

    114-113 Cotto

Even, with the questionable knockdown giving Cotto the win.

I thought Clottey "won" the fight, but Cotto was the smarter more consistently active fighter.
