yeah it's a rough sport I'll give you that

but if the situation were reversed

"Clottey is a dirty fighter" would be everywhere on the board.

say what you want about "in the heat of battle" but that looks VERY dirty on Cotto's part

and considering the fight is in MSG, why would Cotto get DQ'ed anyway.

Plus the ref is very hard nosed (same one for the Judah/Cotto fight) and just tells the fighters to "shake it off"

    regardless of what happens

be it low blow, rabbit punch, or in this case a modified slam.

looks like hes being grabbed by clottey and shrugged him off agressively rather than slammed. and clottey went down like there was a sniper in the back row. it became clear at some points he was intentionally looking for points to be taken off cotto which is pretty unsportsmanlike

also in terms of his knee injury, impact injuries are nothing in the scheme of thing. he couldnt have done medial or cruciate ligament damage from that or cartlidge damage from the manner of the fall. looking for points to be taken off? cant win a world champ in that manner hence the ref saying hey come on be a champion

all things considered though, weather Clottey was trying too hard to get a point deducted from Cotto or not

I agree completely with the TS in that Cotto did what he did

because he KNEW he could get away with it.

I'll always have a grudging likeness for Barrera (big Morales fan) for doing that to Hamed, I never tire of watching it.

As soon as Clottey tried to wrap his arms around, Cotto grabbed him and lifted him up. He then proceeded to turn Clottey slightly then dropped him with his right. I mean common. That is more of something you would see on MMA.

before Cotto had finished his flurry of punches, Clottey had his 2 arms over Cotto's back..... Cotto then aggressively tried to rid himself of Clottey

it just so happened it turned out worse then he wanted.... big deal

The low blows came after Clottey repeatedly tried to get Cotto disqualified/point deducted

i have no problem with that, simple payback

Wow. Cotto aint having any of Clottey's ****. Cotto did **** all and Clottey went down like a sack of ****. This is one of the worst posts I have ever seen in this forum. Cotto's take-down of Abdulaev (may have got the wrong opponent) was far better and there was no compaints from anyone there. You lean on Cotto and continue to hold as he stands up... then you might find yourself on the canvas and rightly so.

The hit to the back of the head was NOT intentional. Anyway it was Clottey's fault. You should ALWAYS face your opponent and you should protect yourself at all times. Clottey did neither, if anything that was a legitimate knockdown.

If anything Clottey was the DISGRACE. Acting and playing up the the ref continuously. Then bitching about dropping a SD in a very close fight afterwards.

His CONSTANT USE OF THE HEAD is also a DISGRACE TO THE SPORT. First Baldomir suffered the Clottey head, then Judah and now Cotto. Clottey's tactics includes USE OF THE HEAD TO BATTER AND CUT HS OPPONENTS. That was a BRUTAL gash above Cotto's eye and Clottey is lucky Miguel is a warrior who continued to fight, rather than call in the cards after 4 and take the EASY WIN.

That is the reason why if ever Pacquiao gets to fight Cotto next, the Ref should be more sensitive when it comes to such tactics... because its a big deal.

well if thats true, then i apologise!

    still a hater though :D

the low blow? that may have been on purpose, just payback for the cut and the blatant attempts to get him disqualified etc

Funny part is that Both tried to cheat their way out for a win. It's just that it's Cotto's turf and Clottey may have intentionally head butted Cotto. Oh ****ing well.
