i know its wrong, and understand people freaking! i`m just saying this guy is a warrior, does not dis-respect opponents (even margo after that fight)!

he is a gentleman outside the ring, but in it he will make you pay for any mis-justice

The reason why a lot of people don;t have respect for Cotto is because of his fans. They make every excuse in the world for everything he does. The headbutt wasn't completely Clottey's fault. That slam to the canvas was intentional as hell. But you can;t tell Cotto fans anything.

    Gentleman?

So your excuse for a man who repeatedly goes for another guys nuts is that he is a gentleman?!?!?! You ever been punched in the nuts?

What would you be saying if it was anyone else?

    certainly agree.

and without the name calling im just saying watch the clip

everyone will admit that Clottey and Cotto got into a clinch, it's just what happened after the clinch which is up for debate.

The fall was dramatic. If you could see 10 seconds before the GIF the TS provided you will remember that Clottey had Cotto in the corner than Cotto turned him reversing the position then inmediately Cotto was going to start off with some bodyshots and CLOTTEY immediately jumps and tries to put Cottos head in a lock. Cotto just shrugged him off and Clottey had one foot in the air so he fell down. Big deal.

Can somebody please tell me why Clottey was trying to put his arm over his head?

Regardless, both did things that were outside the rules in this fight. Nobody got a point...at least it was consistent. What is the point in crying about what one fighter did?

i would say **** happens, just like accidental headbutts

Cotto is a gentleman outside the ring, inside he is a beast

    Intent is as intent does....

He lifts him up with his legs twists, and drives him down with his right arm. You see the GIF don't you? How much more evidence do you need?

And it was sure a lot more intentional than that headbutt.

My take - Cotto meant to shove Clottey off him (which is fair enough). I think anyone saying "he meant to slam him" though...i mean people think he set up to throw him to the deck? Because he doens't throw him onto his back. He throws him OFF. Whatever happens when Clottey's feet meet the canvas is what causes him to go horizontal.

Would you agree with all of that? Or not?

What is in the gif is Cotto lifting him up and shruggin him off. That was intentional. But you seem to be claiming that Cotto meant to slam him to the canvas like a wrestling move? Even though he doesn't throw him onto his back, but onto his feet/face? That seems to be speculation to me (though it may be correct) and beyond the arena of certainty.

Yeah, but as I and 555 said, the problem is the lift up motion and the push down motion with the right hand. If you want to say that he was trying to shrug him off, ok. But he's trying to push him down, towards the canvas. You can't do that, particularly after you wrapped him up with one arm, lifted him up and then dumped him.

All this gentleman talk is ridiculous when you try to use it as an excuse for a guy who goes for the nuts fight after fight after fight. Especially those where he is in trouble.

C'mon man, you can do better than that.

And why was Clottey trying to put Cotto in a guillotine choke? It goes both ways.
