I think McGrain is spot on. You can't seriously tell me Cotto INTENDED to do that. Did he force Clottey to lift his arm around his head by powers of the mind? Well?

They just came together like that, its one of those things. Cotto shoved him off which is perfectly fair, you don't need a guys arm around your neck/head. Too bad Clottey fell after he landed and possibly hurt his leg...its one of those things.

 

hmm says... that was some classic acting...how the hell did he sweep both his feet when he was in a good position to stay upright and had enough time to turn his body to land on his stomach? It sure took Cotto a lot of effort to pick him up and slam him the way he did :verysad. Thinking he was just trying to buy time or win fan sympathy... perhaps trying to get a point deduction for Cotto or didn't take the effort to stand on ground...... hardly a body slam and he deserves an Oscar (no pun).

i`m just saying i know its wrong, but its not like he's a proper dirty fighter (barrara, holyfield etc)..... he has hit below a few times! he does what he has to.... not saying its right, just saying he is a warrior!

the same fighters spirit that made him low blow makes him fight on with that horrible gash over his eye.... its all part of the same package!

yeah i was just gonna say **** like this used to always happen back in the day. people used to slam each other, hit to the balls frequently, go in first with your head intentionally... well at least fritzie zivic, evander and any other fighters i cant think of right now.

its boxing bizarre **** happens. especially when clottey fights.

 

Cotto quite obviously would not risk getting disqualified by slamming a man onto the floor.... it was an accident

Just don't expect anyone else to fight him there. That gravy train is over, thank God. And just think, some of you people were saying Mosely should have to fight him there again in a rematch. Do you really think that's gonna happen now?

yeah that is safe to say, the throwing him off certainly looked purposeful.

I'm just saying that the wide disparity in scoring is gonna kill any chances he has in fighting anyone of substance in MSG ever again. And if you are too blind to see that, then you really are being unreasonable.

People need to go pop in their tape of Echols-Hopkins II to see a real bodyslam...that will put this little non-event into perspective.

Pro Boxing will end up like Amatuer boxing soon if people are going to be ***s and whine at every little indiscretion...It will be a game of tag and run, hold then break..then repeat.
