    Non-event?

If this is a non-event, then should we also lay to rest all this talk about Clottey intentionally headbutting Cotto?

It's OK to claim Cotto is such a warrior for fighting with one eye, but Clottey's leg injury is just some fake bull****???

my bad, i thought you were saying he lost and got a gift!

ya its tough to fight him there, we all know that..... Clottey knew it but still took the foot off the gas and allowed the judge to award it 116-111 (i think it was that score)

I knew someone would bring that up.

Guess what happened to Echols for the bodyslam?

Hopkins could have chosen to win by DQ.

Contrast that with "Oh, Clottey is an actor." The ref was on the call.

Damn, that's some Prime Tyson stuff with the double left (actually, triple). Tight!

Yup. That's all that can really be said, we agree.

Just to add that - Cotto probably did have bad intentions. In-fighting is all about territory and domination. They came together, one of them came out boss, and the referee understood what had happened and acted accordingly. He COULD have taken different action that would also have been reasonable, but that is not the way it panned out.

**** happens really is the bottom line. There is no need for this 9 page hysteria!

Thankfully, this is mostly just a next-day-fan thing. It tends not to be an issue for fighters and coaches, or even good journalism.

The left on the belt is a...beauty. Cotto is a weird fighter. He has no head-movement at all for the first four, and then he takes excellent evasive action. He seems a little frozen to me sometimes.

Man, go back crawling into your cave and lick your ass wounds... Cotto didn't do this on purpose... IF he wanted to win the match he just had to cry about his eye after the 4th round and never did it... Actually, Clottey is another one that likes to cry about **** too... Did Cotto cried about the headbutt? NOOO he is a fighter and that **** happens in a fight...

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm starting to get anoyed with people who have never stepped in a ring and act as if they know **** and can distinguish between an intentional or unintentional blow.

you can tell all that by a 5 second clip?

i guess you also scored 10-8 for the round where cotto had clottey in the corner for an entire 2 minutes.

When did I claim that? I never said I believed Clottey butted him purpose.

Clottey's leg injury was some fake bull**** anyway because as soon as he saw Mercante wasnt buying it he was up and walking around fine within a minute.
It was a jarring at worst.
Cotto's injury was there for everyone to see.
