Clottey is always complaining that no one will fight him...granted Clottey is
a decent fighter when he fights, however he will always be a loser.

    1. Top five fighters have nothing to gain by fighting him and more to lose.
    2. He is a habitual complainer who never gives credit where its due.
    3. He has a propensity for headbuts....intentional or not.
    4. His shell like defense is over rated.
    5. He will most likely end up fighting up and coming contenders or the
likes of Collazo and possibly Berto if he ever gets the nerve which won't
    happen according to his people.
    6. He doesn't deserve a Mega Money fight with Pacquiao nor Mosley.

With all of that, he beat your boy's ass in the minds of a lot of people.

I think he still deserves a rematch.

Good list. Wouldn't go so far as to call him a loser, but all valid points. I might also add that it just doesn't look like he has the will to do what it takes to win when the rubber hits the road.

the minds of the vast majority think Cotto won....

a rematch is deserved in normal circumstances, but in this loaded WW division and with Pacquaio looking for a fight, a rematch is a step backwards.....

maybe in a few years if Cotto losses the next few mega fights

hardly a B level fighter..... his losses have been to top, top opposition and has never been properly 'beaten' in a fight!

while he is not A class, you cant just call clottey a straight up B class fighter, in his only loss's he was very very competitive. And those were against A class fighters. So i would put him somwhere in between

I was ringside for the fight. The headbutt was obviously unintentional.

Cotto's offenses (pushing Clottey down and the punch behind the head) were much more blatent and intentional fouls. Cotto has shown that when annoyed or pushed to a real fight, he does foul. His low blows against Judah (another fight I was ringside for) were obviously intentional.

Clottey was beating Cotto to the punch most of the fight. He was not active enough for many observers, but Cotto was also fighting running away for the last half of the fight. He was bothered by the cut, but also bothered by the fact that he could NOT hurt Clottey.

How dare you call him a B-level fighter? If Cotto's name was Clottey and Clottey's name was Cotto, the scores would've been COMPLETELY different.

Cotto didn't overpower, outclass, or outdo Clottey in anyway. Cotto was the name, the champion, and the one with 14,000 fans in MSG. That's why he got the decision...plain and simple. That's just boxing.

Thank you for making this thread, atleast Cotto didnt stop fighting after being headbutted by Clotteys deformed ass Zulu head. Clottey would have stopped fighting like he did in the last rounds, if he was ever in Cottos place. He has no heart, all he has is defense no offense, and hes boring as hell. I hope this is the last time he gets a big fight.
