    Like opponents

    DLH and Hatton.....

......the Mayweather fights sold more PPV in both those matchups.....in the case of DLH, Mayweather almost doubled the PPV buys of Pac DLH.....

.....this is'nt even debatable, its fact......

I don't get how this pull out could be from bad ticket sales.

    1) The fight was over a month away.
    2) There is no advertisement on regular TV whatsoever.
    3) HBO's 24/7 had not started yet, which would start the real campaigning cycle.

If there is anybody that actually benefits from this is Marquez because if he continues his strength training and has the time to adjust to the new weight then he will be more comfortable on fight night.

Correct on all three of your points.......

The truth is that only a select few fights sell out within a day or so after tickets go on sale......
.....real fights of the century like Hagler-Leonard, Holyfield-Tyson, DLH-Trinidad, etc......

......JMM-Mayweather is'nt that type of an attraction to the mainstream......but its certainly a fight that will sell out and the interest will build through the 24/7's and page long newspaper advertisements ........just as what happened with Pac-Hatton.
As you said, none of that had even begun yet......

......but yeah, I'm esctatic that Marquez will get more time to build his body up in a more proper fashion to come in at a solid 143-144 lbs.:good

If the fight happens in September, my confidence is building that JMM will do it.....

    JMM Shock the World!!!:bbb

mayweather-marquez didnt have half the buzz pac-hatton did. you can use all the excuses in the world about pre hbo 24/7, advertisements, etc but the bottom line is that poor tickets sales was the rumor prior (which wasnt the case in pac-hatton) and if floyd really was the main attraction, face of boxing 'cash king' there wouldnt be such talk.

I'll take a life time ban bet with anyone that this doesn't break the 800k buy.

Time will tell, my opinion is that JMM-Mayweather is going to outsell Pac-Hatton in US PPV buys.......

.....once the promotion gets underway with the 24/7's, believe me, there is going to be coaberative video pieces in there of boxing scribes who depict JMM as the much better fighter than Manny Pacquiao....video of JMM disecting Pacquiao and the such.....and of course, Mayweather being his loudmouth self is going to hype the interest in the fight.

Only time will tell, but to date, the proof in PPV but rates is that Mayweather sells more PPV's than Pacquiao.

    time will tell indeed.

    i highly doubt mayweather-marquez cracks 600k.

but ay, they got my $50 bucks.

-gO marques!!! (even though floyds gonna bust his pinata with relative ease)

Poor ticket sales no question but the sad part is a chance that this fight may never happen

hopefully the fight doesn't happen and we get Pacquiao vs JMM III and Cotto vs Mosley II. Berto can fight Clottey and Paul Williams can fight Martinez at 154.

It so appears it is due to poor ticket sales. How about Haye's pull out because of Setanta?

Maybe because this time they are paying him around $15m, although not not sure how much he got for the Baldomir fight..
