Chagaev is a semi slick southpaw just like Ibragimov and I think he will fight cautious like Ibragimov did as well but with better motion and more punches landed imo. Klitschkos paw jab will trouble Chagaev and he won't be able to break into it. This isn't a Valuev jab (also a good jab) but Klitschko(Wlad) has the best jab in HW right now. Seems like Chagaev cuts easily as well. Carl had him cut(was it a butt?) But it seems like Chagaev gets cut a lot and I think Klitschkos right hand will open up and he will maintain on that spot stopping him late in the 10th. final prediction Klitschko TKO 10 on cuts.
I think your pick is a reasonable one. I also think that Chagaev was - and if fit, still is - a good deal better than Iggy. I don't rule out a surprise here.
Wladimir is in a phase at the moment where I think he's unbeatable to 99% of any boxer ever. Guys who had a chance against Wlad in his current phase are Lennox Lewis, Vitali Klitschko and possibly Mike Tyson in his head moving, get on the inside prime. But at the moment, he wins on coast mode against Chagaev - his reach, combined with the natural power he has and the fact that he can link together combinations makes him bloody hard to beat - the newfound mental edge he's had recently and the fact that he's now in his prime means you can forget the version of him that went down against Peter - this version of Wlad is the deal.
Ibragimov was fighting in a style that was only recently taught to him by his new, Mayweather the Younger, trainer....while Chagaev has been fighting his style his whole career. Chagaev is going to make Wlad look a little goofy with his southpaw stance, movement and defense but he won't break inside the jab, he won't get past the left hook and he'll catch plenty of right hands in the face. WK KO9 RC.
I think he will take alot of shots- he may have a granite chin, that spells trouble for Wlad- if Chagaev can tire him in the later rounds. Frankly, I know very little about this euro fighter. This will be a showcase fight, regardless.
