Anybody who gets paid to watch boxing, get drunk and deal with the ego of pro fighters has my respect. Kudos to him. Lot of haters in this thread.

Merchant has contributed more to this sport than any of the haters on the previous page. Before complaining you're not the ones getting drunk, don't forget he was on of the initial investors in Joe Fraziers career. Not to count his journalism backgraound of over 40 years. But yeah, he was just a drunk and talked crap. Something that no one on this board is guilty of... :roll:
I don't hate him.I think he's fantastic!!He obviously knows and loves the sport unlike nitwit Kellerman and clueless Lampley.And he's hilarious as well as brutally honest.The reason I love to take the **** out of him when he's drunk at the end of the fight is because usually I am,too,so I can really relate.In other words,I'm envious(in a good way)that I don't have his job.In my opinion,he and Al Bernstein are the best on TV.I wish those 2 worked together.I also happen to like Steve Farhood.Larry Merchant deserves his position in the HOF.God bless him and may he not retire until he can't do it anymore.
