You can add other geographical areas (states, provinces, ...) too, if you want.

I'll start (all boxers names are links to their boxrec career record pages, except for the Hilton brothers link):

    - Tough to narrow it down for me. I'll just go with Mike Tyson

    - I would say Kostya Tszyu, but then you get into is he really from there, etc. So instead I'll take Jeff Fenech

    - Another very tough one for me. I loved watching Azumah Nelson fight, but I'll take brawler John "The Beast" Mugabi from Uganda

    - Roberto Duran

    - Carlos Monzón

    This content is protected
    - Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.

    - I love Wilfred Benitez, but I have to go with Felix Trinidad for the beatdown he put on Fernando Vargas (that's coming from someone with Mexican heritage, too)

    This content is protected
    - Enjoyed the Hilton brothers, and Arturo Gatti, but I have to take Donovan "Razor" Ruddock

    This content is protected
    - Joe Calzaghe, the Pride of Wales

    - Huge range of choices. I'll take Polish phenom Dariusz "Tiger" Michalczewski

    - Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao

(state I live in) - A lot of great fighters, especially from Philadelphia. Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins

    Who you got? :bbb

I'm going to try and keep it to active fighters

    Philippines: Manny Pacquiao

Indonesia Chris John, although Daud Yordan seems more exciting to watch

    Japan: Hozumi Hasegawa

    Thailand: Saddam Kyietyongyuth

    Mexico: Juan Manuel Marquez

    UK: Craig McEwan

    Canada: Steve Molitor

    Puerto Rico: Juan Manuel Lopez

    Ghana: Joshua Clottey

    South Africa: Ali Funeka

    Venezuela: Jorge Linares

    USA: Shane Mosley

    Australia: Michael Katsidis

    Poland Tomasz Adamek

Germany ... tough... I can't seem to pick any unless you count Abraham as German

I'll stop here before I include countries like Denmark, Ukraine, Russia, or Panama where there either not that many known fighters or my knowledge of fighters there are limited.

Being raised in Asia as a youngster exposed me a lot to those fighters :good

And with youtube these days, its a LOT easier to follow these guys around. Its just too bad we don't see guys like Hasegawa fight in North America, Im sure you guys will like him if he does.

A lot of guys think Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, etc are part of South America.

Do you know of any other Kazakh fighter besides Jirov and Abdulaev? Im asking because they seem to do really well in the amateur levels and wonder if this may eventually translate into the pro game.

Great thread! Nice starting point for someone who used to be just a casual fan of boxing to get to know more about other fighters.

For its size Denmark is a bit of a mini-powerhouse for the region.

You can add the Bredahl boys, the very good Tom Bogs, Battling Nelson, Dick Nelson, former titlist Gert Bo Jacobs..And some pretty solid contenders for their time in Hansen, Christiansen and Johansen...and probably more that I cant recall.

Add Pedroza, Ernesto Marcal, Luis Ibarra, Panama Al Brown, Zapata, Jorge Lujan and Pinder to Panama's contribution.
