While I wont go into detail on who I had winning, I must say...That was an excellent ref. He let the fighters get in and do their thing, and fight. I know there will be people who say "cotto should have been docked points", well....Sorry, but clottey was working those "shots" worse than a premier football star.
"Suck it up and fight! Your a champion"...Fu**in eh!

Cotto made no complaints and continued even though he would've won if he quit because of this!!

Clottey's best punch is his head.

i thought the ref was good too, i thought cotto should have gotten at least a "symbolic" warning after the hit to the back of the head......

but other then that, I dont have any major complaints with the scorecards.....i had it 114-113 cotto, but could have easily as well gone to clottey......

cotto pre-margo would have won by a larger spread.

    here is my score card

    1.)9-9
    2.)10-9
    3.)9-9
    4.)9-10
    5.)10-9
    6.)9-9
    7.)10-9
    8.)10-9
    9.)9-9
    10.)10-9
    11.)10-9
    12.)9-10

I had Clottey winning by 4 points.
8-11th round Cotto ran. And agree that a warning for that blow to the back of the head, which I felt was intentional, should have at least been given.
Props to Cotto for sucking it up.
But I don't think they thought he was ahead so he had to forge ahead.
Clottey showed weakness in his psychology. And seemed a bit tired in the 12th. Once again a fighter stops jabbing ?

I will chalk this up for a case of the heavy hitters having future plans of a SUPER fight with Pacman win. After this though.

There are several people I would like to see him against.
Though I am not a Williams fan I would love to these 2 get it on. Only way Cotto can put his 1 loss behind him would be to defeat Williams.

Cotto should have lost a point for the blow to the back of the head!
Clottey wasn't turning his head when Cotto punched it, so there's no excuse. Cotto may have heart, but it doesn't mean he didn't fight dirty. That punch was an illegal punch, and blatantly so!

Cotto won on the judges' cards, but we all know who won the FIGHT.

But Clottey has no one to blame but himself. He let his foot off the gas pedal in the championship rounds..

I've never seen a 9-9 round without point deductions either.

I agree that the referee was good, but some people are in disagreement...

A bodyslam, a low blow, two hits to the back of the head... and Cotto barely even got warned. Other than that, the ref did okay I suppose.

I knew Clottey had to knock him out to win. 116-111? Gimme a damn break. Clottey never had a shot at MSG.

This is officially the WORST POST IN THE ENITRE HISTORY OF ESB.

Not only do you SWAGGER in here with an OUTRAGEOUS and INCORRECT take on the fight, claiming Clottey won by '4 rounds'. Your score card is INVALID.

Rounds CANNOT be 9-9. I repeat: Rounds cannot be 9-9. You also gave 4 EVEN ROUND, that is simply non-sensical especially the first which is a clear 10-8 for Cotto (You MUST think 'Who won the round INCLUDING the KD and THEN you deduct the point from Clottey'). As such it is a CLEAR Miguel Cotto 10-8 round.

Also, how the **** can you give the 6th even? Clottey flurried off the ropes a few times but he just stood there taking about 30 solid Cotto blows. Even?
What a DISGRACE of a scorecard.

I have hightlighted a part that made me further rage. You should ALWAYS face your opponent in the ring and PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES. Clottey did neither, Miguel spain quicky and launched a blow. Clottey should have been facing him. If anything, it was a legitimate knockdown.

You have NO CREDIBILITY on these boards, NONE AT ALL. You should log off and request that your account be deleted because you are DELUSIONAL.

    A DISGRACE of a post.

A Bodyslam? Dear me. Clottey went down like A CHEAP HOOKER, playing up to the referee CONSTANTLY. If you lean over Cotto and he stands up - you better be prepared to let go. Cotto was just being a man and Clottey was being a LITTLE GIRL.

As for the 'TWO hits to the back of the head'... Well I have no idea when the second one was but Clottey should have been facing Miguel at ALL TIMES and protecting himself at ALL TIMES. Clottey did neither and then played up to the referee in a DISGUSTING MANOR.

If anything, it was LEGITIMATE Knockdown.

Well are you ignoring 114-113 actually went in favour of Clottey? Clottey dropped a SD to Cotto in a very close fight. There is no controversy, although yes, 116-111 was far too wide.

The "body slam" resulted from a clinch and contest of strength which went wrong. The referee ruled as such.

With the blow to the back of the head, the referee ruled, "you turned around on him, okay?" which I thought was perfectly fair.

With the low blow, the referee ruled it "an accident" which is debateable, but the referee is the closest man to the action.
