You make some good points but I hope Kesslers argument isn't based on your claim that he didn't see any of the PPV money for the Calzaghe fight. It wasn't on PPV. It was shown in the US on regular HBO and the UK on Setanta, which is a subscription channel.

Rightly or wrongly his best years are going to waste and it's very sad.

I don't think so, but Kessler would love to fight both fighters. He was out in the Danish media recently mentioning Froch as his preferred opponent and Bute coming in at 2 or 3. They actually had talks regarding a Kessler-Froch fight recently, but Kesslers legal issues mean that no one will touch him.

Markus Beyer was a top fighter and three time WBC supermiddle champ, beat the hell out of guys like Omar Shieka and Danny Green. Kessler KO'd him in 3 (by contrast Calzaghe TKO'd Sheika in 5). He may have been on the slide, but he was still top rated at the time.

It is clear that you don´t know what you are talking about, and clearly don´t know anything about whats going on in the boxing world.
not even an idiot would say, that if he get a "good attorney",he could find a legal way to fight now??!! When you don´t know what your talking about,it´s better to listen and learn.

I think Palle wants a fight in the States, but only if the money is right. Unfortunately, most of the big fights around SMW are agiast guys who don't have a big box-office appeal. Heck, even Jones-Calzaghe was a dissappointment and Lacy-Taylor was in a half-filled stadium. Kessler wants to fight the big names for the hardcore fans. Palle wants the money.

Kessler is now 30 - just one year younger than Froch and he's totally inactive. Whatever the reasons for his inactivity. he shot himself in the foot signing with Palle.

He'll never get these years back.

Kessler is an amazingly pure boxer. He gave Andrade a beating - that chin was GRANITE though and stood up to it all.

He signed with Palle ages ago - back when there was no real alternative.
But Palle did a reasonably good job with him until the Calzaghe fight, and since then he seems to have lost touch. Like when he assumed that a WBA belt was worth more than Showtime exposure against Maranda.
The problem is that Palle P*ssed off so many people in the US with that affair, no one bothers to negotiate with him anymore.

    1. I'm an American.
    2. I am/was a Joe Calzaghe Fan.
    3. I am a Mikkel Kessler fan.
It's too bad really that it seems a lot of people are ducking him, but like Joe, he's never going to get any recognition fighting most of his fights in Europe, it doesn't matter who he fights. I recall the analysts talking down about Kessler and Calzaghe during the pre-fight because both of them, regardless of their status, were relatively known in the US due to the fact that they both fought mainly in Europe, and they made a big deal out of the fact that Kessler was actually leaving Denmark to fight in the UK.

Kessler needs to fight in the US, no matter his next opponent.

Dawson offered Kessler a fight on HBO at 175. Kessler said no.

    Palle said no. Big difference.

This is one of the reasons Kessler wants to leave Palle.

The money he was offered by HBO wouldn't even have covered their expenses.

Why would Kessler want to fight at 175 anyway? Isn't Dawson bragging about how easily he can make 168?

The people that trash Kessler are most likely people who don't like Calzaghe. Kessler is a top level fighter, just not at Calzaghe's level.
