Hey Chef, what language does Wlad speak to Chagaev in? Russian or German? I figure Russian would be more native to both of them.

    He's 6'0 74" reach.
He knows he's going to get hit, but was pretty elusive against Valuev and Wlad's going to miss alot, too.
Chagaev kinda' looks like George Chuvalo-if he has that chin then this will make an interesting fight. Chagaev is no chicken.
    He will mix it up.

Yeah, these organizations make themselves look even MORE ridiculous with this sort of crap. It was bad enough having more than one "champ" per division because there were several of these orgs - now the orgs themselves have more than one "champ!":patsch

These groups should ALL be put out of business. They are a cancer on the sport.

Just like in the animal kingdom, theres advantages to being bigger and there are advantages to being the smaller fighter. Though in this case, Wlad has almost all the advantages going in. Aside from his extremely weak chin and lack toughness when things get rough, an advantage almost every oppenent Wlad has faced has over him.

Chagaev's only chance of beating Wlad is to stay on the inside for as long as possible, and when you do get in attack the body. He must also be willing to get rough with Wlad, Wlad only feels comfortable when he's controling the pace of the fight, and his oppenent aint throwing back.

A German named Mario Pokowietz has made a complaint to the Gelsenkirchen health authority based on Chagaev's hepatitis B infection and demands that the fight be called off.

    http://newsticker.sueddeutsche.de/list/id/658229

Pokowietz: "Chagaev must not box here, he must not box almost anywhere. He has no business in the ring."

Then many hats will be consumed.
I'll be frankly suprised if Chagaev makes it the full 12 rounds.

I see on Fightnews that they're being all positive about Chagaev being actually allowed to add the WBA title to the mix for this fight. Sadly I think the WBA will instead put their foot down and stick with Valuev as their 'proper' champion, the big guy is their nest egg. Shame.

No chance. No chance at all.

Brewster's eye was still screwed and they passed him fit. This fight is simply way too important for Wlad. Chagaev could turn up at the weigh-in missing a leg and they'd still pass him, this is simply too good an opportunity to pass up. Wlad wins this, he gets the Ring Championship, in spirit at least has beaten the WBA champ and has further cleared up the messy heavyweight situation. Nothing short of a major injury will stop this now.

They talk to each other in Russian.
Chagaev speaks Russian quicker and smoother, Wladimir seems to have somewhat of a hard time in choosing his words, although it's his mother tongue. Probably it's because of him living among English and German speaking people.

I would think the WBA would GLADLY welcome the winner as their champ and then order him to fight Valuev once Povetkin has been fought. Guaranteed $$$, especially if the champ wants to keep the belt. I mean Wlad makes a pretty decent purse here, if you take a percentage you'd want the high-paid guy giving you sanctioning fees.

But I'm only a normal human, what do I know?

:good One could only hope something that wonderful happens this saturday. Though I doubt it will happen, the thing Chagaev has going for him is the fact that he's a southpaw and got a good chin. This will only make the fight last longer than it should, expect to see the ultra cautious Wlad on the 20th. It will more and likely be another boring Wlad fight.:tired
