Still just a kid, still unbeaten. Here's his destruction of long-time titlist Niida, Gonzales retired him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJpBUlnZPtE Since, he' struggled a little bit but hopefully on a learning curve. Next up for him, Kastunari Takayama, The Ring's #6 at the weight. That fight is happening next month, and might be worth tracking down. What do you guys make of this kid?
He looked the **** early on..but like you said has looked a little average since apparently. I hear people say he could be the best since Lopez. I still want to see Sithsamerchai and Joyi first though...they are apparently really solid.
Chocolatito's a beast, but really raw. Sort of a tiny Edwin Valero. I like him, but I think he loses if he faces Sithsamerchai at this point and Sithlord fights a smart fight (instead of trying to brawl like he did against Rachman), which is the really obvious matchup that needs to happen.
Yeah, he rushes himself and it makes him miss. Still, he looks quite neat though...he looks a good deal tidier than Valero.
Very impressive vs. division #1 Niida, less than impressive in his 1st defense vs. Rosas. He's still in progress and showed a lot of improvement as he stepped up in competition, but to see whether he's the truth, he has to face another champion, like Raul Garcia. Or get past Takayama in Japan in July, which won't be easy. He's young, he's exciting, he's good looking, he seems like a cool dude... but being Nicaraguan will be a big problem for his popularity.
With his style of fighting, I see no reason why he couldn't develop a big Mexican fanbase if he keeps fighting Mexicans. I haven't seen Garcia fight before I don't think - how does he look?
Ive seen a highlights package of his fight with Niida. He looked pretty good..it was hard to tell..They kept showing Niida throwing tons of uppercuts, and Katsunari taking them well for the most part..Takayama scored a flash KD early. Dont know if the decision was just or not. Kyowa apparently schooled him...Eagle was a very good fighter though.
