Yep, that was pathetic the way he went down after Cotto grazed his head. He must be mates with that clown Drogba.
He was trying to pull a John Ruiz (or Francisco Lorenzo) and steal a win by faking getting hurt on a barely illegal and accidental maneuver.
Just looking for a little insurance for the last round that's all. Mercante Jr. wasn't trying to hear it tho. (Good call)
Yeah that made me laugh. The Ref was having none of it and looked quite annoyed that Clottey tried to con him. Even the tap low blow, the Ref told him to just get on with it and fight like a champion. Good Reffing in my book.
From the wide angle replay of it, he actually seemed to tap him right behind the right ear or in that ear area, which is legal and one of the "weak spots" of a fighter. Imagine if he actually punched him there, could that have counted as a KO if it developed?
While it was far from a hard blow a point should have been deducted, especially after the tackle, and the low blows. Also it was so blantant and deliberate it shouldn't have been ignored. Clottey had been holding his arms on the inside all night, and he was scared and probably thought he was behind so he was frustrated and he deliberately punched him in the back of the head.
Ref was on Cottos side. He should of deducted points well before the punch on the back of Clotteys head. Ref was a ****!
what the hell are you talking about? the 'low blow' came after it, and why didn't the ref deduct a point for clottey's low blow in the 1st? instead he just got them to touch gloves.
haha, i was thinking that. amazing how his injuries just healed up miraculously when no points were deducted. either that or they used the english premierships "magic water"
