I think that Taylor is a really good fight, and Froch blew him the **** up. He had a plan at the start of the fight, things were rougher for him than he anticipated, but he executed that plan just the same. He did what he had to do. I think it puts him firmly in the ballpark. I'd be surprised if all of these guys hold style advantages over him in the way you anticipate, and if they do, he still has those underated qualities to call upon - guts, stamina, intensity, violence. Anyway, we both agree that these fights should happen and i'll look forwards to discussing them with you if they are made :good
In my opinion, the big question marks in this fight are Pascal's chin and, on the other hand, Diaconu's stamina. Pascal was wobbled against Brian Norman (4 knockouts out of 15 victories at that time) and was all over the place in the 7th round of his bout against Omar Pittman, a C level fighter. I won't go as far as saying he has a glass chin, because he went the whole twelve rounds with Froch after all, but it's obvious he doesn't have the best beard in town. I see Diaconu winning this fight by KO even though he's not as skilled as Pascal, unless he gasses out like he did against Henry.
Exactly what I was saying in another thread, Pascal chin is very very suspect and in the same breath, Froch power may be overrated. I really can't see how Pascal can stay up if Adrian caught him flush with a hook.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kqlRy9AD50 He seem hurt here and Pittman power is nowhere near Adrian. And, even if Pascal is the better technical boxer, he was not able to outbox Froch, and Froch is not what I would call ''elite boxer''. My pick, Pascal, between rounds 6 and 9, will feel a little bit to comfortable and will be cocky ''for the show''. In a heated exchange, he's caught by the Shark and go down, he may get up, just to be submerged by a flurry on punches and is stoped , on his feets, by the ref. Adrian by TKO between 6 and 9. :bbb
You have to question Pascal's stamina too, what does it matter him throwing punches in the 12th? Diaconu was gassed against Henry and he still won the 12th.
Pascal is the best fighter that The shark has ever fought and he will be too much for him. Pascal by UD:deal
Pascal is difinitely the best boxer Diaconu has fought. Diaconu may be the best Pascal has fought too. Many people here think Pascal is more skilled than Diaconu. That may not be the case. Diaconu has a very strong amateur background and his footwork, precision and defense are all superior to Pascal's. He has also more power. The winner of this fight is not easy to choose. Both men have stamina issues. I don't know. How will Pascal respond to the new weight? More or less power? Will he lose some speed or be faster than Diaconu? My official prediction: I don't know.
Yep but at the same time Diaconu's by far the best boxer Pascal's ever met in his career so far. The only problem in my opinion with Diaconu is how well is he gonna be able to manage his resources cos in terms of skills he's clearly the 'boxer' of the two.
As i can see, you go thread from thread repeating Diaconu is a disgrace... SOunds like hate...without argument.
Even though I'm not a "fan" of The Shark per say, I have to admit that he's a lot better than some people are giving him credit for. I think Pascal is going to be surprised at how hard Diaconu hits and seeing as how it looked like he was going to be eating canvas at any given moment against Froch, I have to imagine Pascal will NOT handle Diaconu's power very well. Pascal has a habit of slugging it out for the sake of slugging it out and I question his stamina...Diaconu might have missed his golden shot due to injuries, poor management and what have you...but I think he's got enough to handle and KO Pascal.
Very possible. I'm still not sure what my pick is for this fight. MAybe PAscal can backpedal en route to a UD?
Hate... with argument. Anyone who fights 8 round fights while a titlist is a disgrace. I have taken it upon myself to educate those who may not know of this shameful and disgraceful behavior by this paper "champion."
Read the post above yours. Are you defending this fraud and saying it is acceptable for titlists to fight 8 rounders while holding a title hostage? Is that what you are suggesting?
The state of 175 is so poor that if he puts on a tremendous performance I might hop on the bandwagon. I know Diaconu has the ability but it's hard to really stick behind somebody who's claim to fame is being "ducked" by Chad Dawson. I hope he kills Pascal (figuratively) and goes on to be very very good. What else can we do but hope at this point?
