Apples/oranges. Fighters in this era don't fight as often as they did then. If Diaconu was fighting 7, 8+ times a year it would be acceptable. He isn't.

I know the situation. He fought a bum in an 8 round fight while sitting on his title. There are a million fighters out there who could have stepped in and yet he fought a bum. In an 8 round fight. While sitting on the title. Everything else is an excuse.

This guy is an elite fighter. Yeah, he lost to Froch clearly by decision. But he put up a good fight. Pascal fought really well against Brian Norman and Omar Pittman. Diaconu is unproven.

Because he needed a fight and he had 3 days to sign for a fight at 187 and in the same day he signed to fight Pascal but I guess that doesn't count.

 

Not as long as he's fighting 8 round fights against bums while sitting on his title. How can you possibly find that acceptable behavior? How could you root for a fighter like that?

 

Just because Pascal was outboxed by Carl Froch doesnt mean he isnt World Class at LHW. He lost to the best.

The Pascal fight was all but signed.From april to june there ain't a lot of time to train so he took that toon up.
