dude you are way off the mark, hitting a tyre with the sledgehammer only stabilizes the core, same with all those other exercises, the core only acts as the stabilizers.

And by the book, you've got it wrong.

If you do repeated resistance work on the core, but do it slowly paced and lumbering - you're simply adding bulk, no agility, much like any other muscle area.

If you do resistance work on the core that works on fast movements, it lengthens and makes more dense the muscle mass, increasing the agility you have in your core.

Hammer swings, rapid Roman Chair exercises and power squats on balance boards or swiss balls increase the agility and flexibility you have in your core, not just stabilise.

by more dense do you mean myofibrillar hypertrophy?

if so i thought it isn't possible to produce much on the core?

anyways according to floyd he does hundreds of sit ups and plenty of endurance activities such as long sparring sessions, bag work, roadwork, old school boxing no strength training, so that rules out the possibility.

It isn't possible to produce much on the core? Have you not seen the increase in thickness of say Roy Jones Jr when he went from 154 through to eventually 175? Increasing thickness around the waist through muscle gain is more than possible.

Most athletes don't do it, because having extremely slow twitch muscle fibres in the abdomen don't do much for you.

As for Floyd - he works on punch resistance with medicine balls, they showed it on 24/7 - he also does a lot of string and mit work, which again they showed on 24/7 - about the only thing they haven't shown him doing is tyre striking - but I just listed one of many ways the injury could occur - those situps he does where he moves to stand position, throws two punches and goes down again could tear rib cartilidge, if you were unfortunate.

Knowing my **** and not being afraid to call out dickheads that don't - yeah, that makes me a twat, but at least I'm a useful twat, rather than a useless **** like you. :)

But until jones met shilstone he had no idea about any of this, he trainer with high repetitions and alot of endurance, he didn't even have a nutritionist.

must be tough being a floydette nowadays. i mean he has not been managing his image in the best way possible nowadays.

just imagine announcing his comeback the same day pac fought. announcing a fight against an older and smaller man.

now getting an injury amidst rumors of slow ticket sales. etc.

Well, as you seem to think it's possible to "lengthen" muscles, which are attached at fixed points via tendons, it would seem you don't really "know your ****." hth.

Regardless if Roy knew about it or not - the fact is, the guy grew width through hypertrophy in the abdomen area through resistance work, refuting your earlier point.
