What should I do about my nutrition? I've been wondering what I need to do, I'm at the weight I want to be at for amateur fighting, about 165, and I'm trying to maintain mainly. My breakfasts are usually healthy, I typically have pancakes, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, or an omelet with a bowl of cereal and 2 percent milk with fruit if there's fruit at my house. Lunch and dinner vary, I like to drink a 20 ounce Gatorade after I do my training with my meal. This is where my foods aren't quite as healthy but I can still lose weight if I want and get through the day fine by eating them. My lunch and dinner food include the following: Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pizza, grilled chicken with cheese sandwiches, chips, french fries, ice cream, pork chops, steak, ribs, soft drinks like Mellow Yellow though not all together. So I basically eat what I want depending on how my weight is going but try to add nutritional boosts in there like Gatorade, fruit and my breakfast meals. I'm able to lose weight if I lessen my portions with these amounts or I can maintain if I choose to eat a little more. What would you suggest I do about my nutritional diet since I'm able to maintain my weight while eating nonhealthy foods but maybe my training would benefit from healthier foods?
Nutritional boosts like gatorade? Are you ****ing serious? Where's the stuff with actual nutrients? What fruits do you eat and how many? Any vegetables at all? Most of the things you listed are processed to death and contain nothing of value.
Just grapes and apples really, mainly just to go with a meal or for a snack. I don't eat vegetables much, I did at school when they were offered though, like corn, etc... I also eat pasta and alfredo noodles also, they're carbs.
Judging by the information you gave so far your diet is a disaster. Most of carbs you eat should come from fruits, vegetables or at worst whole grains. You should eat lean meat instead of burgers and hot dogs. Eat natural foods like eggs, whole milk (unless lactose intolerant), vegetables and fruits, nuts, fish, herbs, stuff like that. Pasta is a nutrient poor source of carbs. And gatorade is ****.
In theory, everything. You may have vitamin or mineral deficiencies that hamper performance (a lack of iron would decrease your ability to transport oxygen in blood for example). Your recovery is probably less efficient than it could be. I'd feel like **** on your diet, honestly. You can't expect your body to function optimally on rubbish fuel.
thanks for making this thread just what i needed to give me motivation to get my arse into gear and get ,my nitrition going might make a trip to Holland and Barret and get some of RDJs fancy supplemts he goes on about
Im not going to go into detail because its not rocket science you know what a good healthy balanced diet should be. As for the benifits they are immense, i work out nearly everyday usually just 1 day off a week and i deffo couldnt do that on your diet!!!! Im not saint with my food but compared to you im the healthiest guy in the world lol!:good
I'm going to probably have some nachos and burritos tonight, and maybe some coke or beer. How am I fixed for nutrients, RDJ?
