Cotto would of won convincingly if there was no cut.

Cotto was outboxing Clottey the first three rounds and even scored a knocked down in the first. The fourth round he was getting hit with right hands more often but Cotto still won that round. If there is a rematch I'm pretty sure Cotto would beat Clottey conviningly next time.

Yes he would have. After the cut Cotto tried to avoid exchanges and standing his ground because he couldn't see the right hand coming. Also Cotto's jab wasn't as good because of it.

Clottey is a dirty fighter, 2 in a row now Zab and Cotto both head butted by Clottey intentionally. If Cotto did not have that big cut, he would have schooled Clottey.

 

No, cotto wasnt outboxing clottey in the first 4 rounds, the first round Clottey was dominating cotto clearly until the last 2 seconds of the knockdown, the second round was also a clear clottey round, the third one was close but i would give it to cotto, so saying what you say is like cotto was winning the first 3 rounds which isnt true, he was having trouble with clottey since the start of the 1rst up to the 3rd round dont blind yourself...

Rewatch the Clottey vs. Zab fight...it was clear as day that Zab was cut by a PUNCH not a headbutt.

 

It would not be fair to ignore how the cut change the fight. It was a big factor as far as I am concerned.

The cut against Judah was due to a punch not a head butt On the other hand TV commentators keep saying Clottey is a dirty fighter. I tend to agree with that notion.

 

go watch before the cut genius it was cotto being outboxed. Clotteys defense was air tight but cotto was having troubles with clotteys offense even before the fight. Learn to score

 

The cut affected Cotto, but I don't know that he would have boxed substantially better without it. Clottey threw some heavy bombs in there, so regardless, Cotto had to not go rushing in, so I think the fight still would have gone the distance.
