Cotto would of won convincingly if there was no cut.

    My scorecard

    1.)9-9
    2.)10-9
    3.)9-9
    4.)9-10
    5.)10-9
    6.)9-9
    7.)10-9
    8.)10-9
    9.)10-9
    10.)10-9
    11.)10-9
    12.)9-10

I had Clottey winning the fight.
The only thing in the fight I thought was intentional was the rabbit punch from Cotto. The head but was unintentional and brought on by Cotto ducking under and in. Major props for fighting through. Great job by the cut man.

I knew Cotto was going to win by split decision.
I will mark this one up as a give me because the BIG BOYs have plans for a SUPER FIGHT next for Cotto. Just you wait and see. IE they did't want to loose that cash cow.

You gave Cotto just 2 rounds, 3 rounds even and 7 to Clottey?!! WOW. Ridiculously bias scorecard.

And an even round is scored 10-10. So you clearly don't know how to actually score a fight.

Clottey would lose to Cotto 5 times out of 5.

That's a logical comment. But in a rematch I'd favor Josh. I think he was the fighter who was more accurate, sharp and unfortunately conservative. If he did get lucky enough to get a 2nd shot he'd have to be far more busy.

Bull****. Clottey was wining the first round until the knock down. Cotto won the 3rd i'll give you that. Cotto can't deal with pressure and would have started to retreat regardless of the cut once he realized his punches had no effect on Clottey. He might have engaged more but that would have made it only worse because I think Clottey would have tagged him more and possibly stopped him.

You are obviously an idiot if you thought Cotto was outboxing Clottey the first 3 rounds. Take away the knockdown and Clottey won the first 2 ROUNDS CLEARLY BEFORE THE CUT HAPPEN IN THE 3RD ROUND. I'm getting sick with these people that keep saying without the cuts and blah blah Cotto would have won the fight easy. Like i said take away the knockdown and Clottey clearly won the first 2 rounds and hell even before the cut, Clottey might have won the 3rd round cause he hit cleaner shots but i give it to Cotto but it was very close.

He doesnt need to rewatch watch it because he's never watched it before. He's a parrot, he's parroting what others have said because as you say, it was clear as day it was caused by a punch.

And people keep saying the only reason he was landing those big rights is because of the cut, watch the fight again, he was landing them way before that.

He's never been more busy than that. What makes you think he'd be more busy all of a sudden in a Cotto rematch? Clottey always has been a low-workrate fighter who fades down the stretch.

Anyway, I don't agree completely with the original poster. I actually had Clottey winning rounds 2 and 3, and he would have won round 1 if not for the knockdown. Might he have won a little wider without the cut? Sure, but Clottey might have also won had he not hurt his knee. While the cut clearly bothered Cotto in rounds 5 - 9, I think it also helped him start to box more from the outside and move around the ring, and he was much more effective when he started to do that and pick his spots.

The only round he clearly won in the first 4 rounds, was the second round. HE DID NOT OUTBOX COTTO IN THE FIRST ROUND. The round could of went either way if Cotto didn't knock him down.

This is obvious. Of course he would have done better without a gashed nasty cut above his EYE... That's only logic isn't is?

I second that...I'm baffled by those who honestly feel cotto would not have commanded the ring better without the cut. The first three rounds where a chess match, anyone who knows cotto know he gets a good timing down pact around mid fight...cotto's jab was apparent with the knock down and it would have only become more effective as the fight progressed creating distance for cotto to counter the lunging clotty. To my surprise cotto still caught clotty with some nice hooks but again the cut caused him to pause fearing retaliation without proper vision. Still the fight would have been competitive but the margin of defeat would have been greater.

That BS. Cotto was whooping him before that. Clottey started landing the right hand at will after the cut.

    IMO, The cut saved Cotto...
Made him fight more conservative & avoid as much exchanges.
Clottey defo does not hit as hard, But hard enough.
(IMO, He was getting the best on the inside)

That said, Cotto just sqeaked it out.
That KD won & signed the deal by the 10-8

    I had it 114-113
