As someone who has cut more weight in a week than Cotto does in a whole year, I question your understanding of boxing and general training methods. Does anyone know what Cotto actually walks around at?
Yes no doubt Pac natural weight is 135 or 130. Anyway I'm not Pac hater. Fact is that he bulk weight good and against Hatton he wasn't at serious physical disadvantage. He even had a small reach advantage. Against Cotto he will face physical disadvantage because Cotto will be something like 155-158 even if the fight is at 144. Pac will be maybe something like 150. Pac faced a big disadvantage against Oscar but he was so weak that night for one reason or another.
yes he can still make 135 but not 130 anymore. his last two fights at 130, he was already showing signs of being drained. yes, pac had a good job bulking-up at higher weights but sooner or later, pac will find a match at a higher weight where he would realize that skills alone would not be enough to overcome the size difference. and cotto has the build, size and talent to show this to pac, imo.
The difference is after fighting Oscar; Floyd did not turn around and call out the other 154 pounders and say I will fight you at 150lbsatsch And don't give me this Pac calls the shots nonesense, if He does not fight Mosely, Cotto or Mayweather where is the money? Hell it would not even be a PPV bout without those names?
hahha yes but I think you musn't believe Roach about that rehydratation story and Oscar. I don't see the logic no to rehydratate him earlier the guy was 145 at the weight in. I'm not even sure that he needed dehydration to make weight because fight night he was about the limit. Why do you cut weight??
Your face is as thick as your hollow skull.. you are making this catchweight thing a very big issue against pac but how about cotto, will you give all the credit to a legitimate WW for beating a JWW? Sounds like you do based on your stupid thread.. So whose talking about bias and double standards now?.ULOL
Yes in my opinion also. But it's still a close match. I think that Pac is a bad match for Cotto. I hope it will be a great match if it happens.
Pac gets little credit for beating Cotto at a catch weight, and Cotto deserves credit because he fought Pac at a weight he might/could've been drained at. Simple as that. Fight Cotto at 147. They say PAc didn't fight Dlh at a catch weight, but admit Dlh was terribly weakened...at 147 which can't be called a catch weight fight lol... Despicable!
You didn't get my point or you just don't wanna get it? If pacman agrees to fight cotto at 147 lbs WW limit, will you still give cotto his props for beating a blown up WW in pacman?
Roach and Pac aint silly they know they couldnt live with Cotto at 147 hence why they want to do this catchweight bull****. If you dont want to fight a Welterweight dont call them out, fight at 140 then. ****ing catchweights are bull****, one fighter is always gona be at a disadvantge.
Either man will get the same props period. PAc asked for Cotto. Nobody believes that PAc is blown up anymore except his fans. I won't let Pac fans live off of that excuse anymore.
no double standards here. 147 wasn't the natural weight of both dlh and pac when they fought. that's why it was considered a catchweight fight for them. pac went up 2 weight classes from 135 while dlh went down 3 lbs. from 150 (catchweight fight w/ forbes). on the other hand, 147 is most certainly cotto's current natural weight. and there wherein lies the big difference. both pac and dlh aren't comfortable @147 while cotto surely is. some say pac is comfortable fighting @147. how can he be when he weighed in @142, 5 lbs. south of the welter limit. even before the dlh fight, pac and roach already said that 140 was pac's ideal weight. that's why they tried to get hatton to fight pac instead of malignaggi. then oscar came into the picture and offered pac a fight @147. if you get an offer to fight boxing's acknowledged cash cow, you definitely take it. that's why pac's fight @147 w/ dlh was a really just a one-off. a fight of such magnitude that he can't simply refuse even if it means moving up 2 weight classes temporarily and going out of his comfort zone which is 140 or 135.
I figured it was an attempt by Oscar to psyche Roach and Pac out before the fight. I never read anything that disputed Roach's story. I cut weight for wrestling, jiu jitsu and only recently boxing. I cut from about 175 to 150-160. I'm in no way trying to say I'm better at cutting weight than Cotto or anything. I believe every body is different in their reaction to weight cutting. However, I also believe shedding an extra 2-3 pounds will have no signicant effect on Cotto when the weigh in is a day before the fight and he'll be around 155-60 in the ring anyway.
