He made 146 after cutting all the weight he could judging by the weigh-in pics. Anything more would be either severe dehydration or lean muscle.

Yep, if Cotto loses...the 2 pounds made him lose...Nevemind the fact he'll weighin at 144, and rehydrate to roughly 155 I'd say.
If Cotto wins...It made no difference ;)
*sarcasm* for the dumbasses who don't get it...

That's a very exact scientific measurement you've provided. You must be Cotto's nutritionist. Cheers for the insider info :good

He certainly wont be 100% healthy but what i can tell you for sure is: HE WILL BE ALL PAC WANTS, A GUY COMING STRAIGHT FORWARD TO HIM WITH NO GOOD DEFENSE TAYLOR MADE FOR HIM... it doesnt matter how hard cotto punches, etc the real reason PAC, ROACH AND ARUM wants this fight is because STYLES MAKES FIGHTS and COTTO IS TAYLOR MADE FOR PAC ...Plain and simple...

Over an average 12 hour period the human body naturally changes by between -2/+2 pounds.

People attaching so much significance to 2Ibs of weight is crazy, its like saying that a fighter is certain to win if the fight took place at 11AM, but by mid-evening he would definetely lose.

Cotto looked suprisingly healthy at the Clottey weigh-in, but IMO 145 is the most he can make without being seriously drained - hell, he looked very drained in most of his full WW fights.

Look. If PacMan is looking for welterweight glory (and I'm against it because these guys are just too big for him), he should fight them at welterweight unless he wants another note in the resume that he faced a 'drained' fighter. It's not real welterweight if you force a fighter to be drained. Don't fight at a certain division if you think it's too much for you, simple as that.

145 is already pretty serious to ask, it's like having the Marquez rematch at 128 pounds. Pac fans already used the 'drained' excuse, and it was at a full SFW. 145 is fair to PacMan and fair to Cotto/Mosley/Williams, that's probably the lowest they can make without affecting their health.

That's the AVERAGE human body. Top-level boxers like Cotto by no means have a body that reacts in the normal weight. To answer the question, a few extra lbs made De La Hoya a corpse, so probably.

If the fight is talked about at 145, why wouldn't Pac just take it at 147? I'm losing a lot of resect for Pacquiao over this whole issue, he fought DLH at 147, so why not Cotto? He's not going to fight anybody who isn't in tip-top condition physically.

Depends how he lost the weight,

and what weight he walks around at outside of the ring,

some fighters struggle to make their own natural weight classes,

i wouldn't consider it 'crazy' to think he would be weight drained and that this would work to Pacquiao's advantage.

and just for the record, mosley would never make anything below 147 and be a force at 37.
