Would Fernando Vargas Be Fitting Up To This Point?

Meh, Cotto already accomplished more than Vargas did before he ran into his daddy (Antonio Margarito). Plus, Cotto has already done something Vargas never did before getting ruined by his daddy, (Felix Trinidad) and that's beating a world class contender in Joshua Clottey. Vargas never had a win that great after being thrashed by Tito.

Up to this point, somewhat. Fernando was very impressive before running into Tito. Same with Cotto and Margarito.

However, I think Cotto will show that he can come back from that loss. He fought a hard fight against Clottey, and now I think people are UNDERestimating him. He's still capable of accomplishing great things in boxing.

    Fernando after Tito was done.

i think so too. i dont understand how so many people thought clottey would whoop cotto's ass and yet, now that he didn't, people are still saying "cotto's ruined, he'll never be the same". clottey was a ****in tough test for cotto. he made cotto look less effective than he is with his defense and accurate punching (that disgusting cut slowed him down a whole lot too. much more than the first two i just mentioned, imo).

i definitely wouldn't make any judgement calls on cotto just yet.

I don't think the win over Quartey was that big. For the
Wright fight that was very close & controversial. I'd give the edge to Cotto over Vargas.

Vargas could have had a great career. But they made the horrible mistake of putting him in a ring with Tito. Vargas was never the same after.

Cotto had fought a lot of great contender and title holders right now that's is very difficult to say Vargas had accomplish more.
